PRAYER DOES NOT ONLY CHANGE THINGS, PRAYER CHANGES PEOPLE 180123 PT. 3.

Memory verse:

“And it came to pass about an eight days after these sayings, he took Peter and John and James, and went up into a mountain to pray.”

“And as he prayed, the fashion of his countenance was altered, and his raiment was white and glistering.”

  • Lk. 9:28-29.

The scriptures make us to understand that the altar of prayer is the altar of transformation, where the God of turnaround is invoked to overturn things according to desire Ezk. 21:27; Mat. 7:7-8. In essence, the believer can make any change he desires to happen on the prayer altar. But we must remember every change on the outside is a product of the change on the inside. There cannot be a change in the situation of a believer until there is a change in him first Mat. 23:25-26. If prayer guarantees change in the believer, it must first change his person.  Therefore, we must have the right perspective on how the prayer altar works, which is that it will change you to change your story.

Scriptural examples of transformation power of prayer.

  1. Moses.

Moses was a mighty man of prayer, who stood in the gap for the Israelite all through his life time Exo. 32:30-32. Moses was with God on the mountain for 40 days on two occasions for the sake of the entire nation Exo. 24:18; 34:28. The effects of this life of much engagement in prayer and fasting showed first in the person of Moses; he was so transformed that his skin began to glow and no one could look at Moses face Exo. 34:30-35. Then we saw Moses at 120 years of age, his natural strength was not reduced Deu. 34:7. Indeed, prayer does not only change things, people essentially change people.

Remember, expectation is the mother of manifestation Pro. 23:18. Therefore, every one of us must expect to return transformed as we engage in the on-going 21-days of prayer and fasting.
