PRAYER DOES NOT ONLY CHANGE THINGS, PRAYER CHANGES PEOPLE 170123 PT. 2.

Memory verse:

“And it came to pass about an eight days after these sayings, he took Peter and John and James, and went up into a mountain to pray.”

“And as he prayed, the fashion of his countenance was altered, and his raiment was white and glistering.”

  • Lk. 9:28-29.

Jesus came on the earth to teach and show us how to live and experience the kingdom life on the earth Heb. 12:2. One of the times in His earthly ministry, he took His three (3) disciples on a mountain to pray Lk. 9:28-35. There was so much transformation in the atmosphere and Jesus cloth, but it began with the transformation in Him (countenance). Thus, Jesus shows us that prayer fundamentally transform the person in order to effect transformation in his situation. I think this is the missing link why many have not experienced the power of prayer; they do not open up for the change in their person, while they seek after changes in things around them. Until prayer changes a person, it may not be able to change the situation of the man.

Scriptural examples of transformation power of prayer.

  1. Jacob.

Jacob was a great prayer warrior; a man that will engage God in a wrestle and prevail Gen. 32:24-28. He knows how to stand alone in the place of prayer, compared to many in the church today seeking for who can pray for them Gen. 32:20-22. He knows how to wrestle with God in prayer for his demand, and won’t let go until God moves to deliver his request Gen. 32:26-28. He engaged the prayer altar so well that he returned with a changed name, not just answers to prayer Gen. 32:28. A changed name means a new personality, identity, and story.

The scriptures make us to understand that what God has done for one, He can do for any other who will apply himself to the same principle Acts 10:34-36. Therefore, every one of us must expect to return transformed as we engaged passionate in the on-going 21-days of prayer and fasting Pro. 23:18.

Jesus is Lord!

Prayer.

Father, in the name of Jesus, baptize me with the Spirit of grace and supplication, thereby making me to engage passionately in the on-going prayer and fasting to return with undeniable transformation on all sides Lk. 9:28-30.

Action.
