Memory verse:

“And it came to pass about an eight days after these sayings, he took Peter and John and James, and went up into a mountain to pray.”

“And as he prayed, the fashion of his countenance was altered, and his raiment was white and glistering.”

  • Lk. 9:28-29.

No matter how powerful a tool is, our knowledge and skill in the use of it is what determines its delivery and effectiveness. Prayer is a principal kingdom tool, with the capacity to change anything the believer desires Mat. 21:22; Mk. 11:24; Jn. 16:23-24. But for us to maximize the potential of prayer, we must understand that it is fundamentally ordained to change the believer, then it can change things n the life and around the believer Lk. 9:28-35. How open a believer is on the prayer altar for change as a person, will determine how productive and effective his prayer will be in making effective transformation in his life.

Scriptural examples of transformation power of prayer.

  1. Abraham.

Abraham is a great and passionate intercessor, who chose to stand in the gap for Sodom and Gomorrah pleading for God not to destroy them Gen. 18:17-33. His commitment to the prayer altar transformed his physical being that at 100 years of age, when the reproductive system of other men were dead, Abraham had a child Gen. 21:4-5; Rms. 4:16-24. Also at 114 years of age, Abraham was still strong enough to undertake a 3-days journey of trekking, without breaking down Gen. 22:1-5. Abraham ultimately became transformed from Abram a failure, to Abraham a man blessed in all things Gen. 24:1.

Remember, we serve a God who does not change Mal. 3:6. Every record of scriptures is an example for us, with the admonition for us to follow those who obtained the promise 1Cor. 10:11; Heb. 6:12. Therefore, every one of us must expect to return transformed at the end of this on-going prayer and fasting Pro. 23:18.
