Memory verse:   

“And I am come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up out of that land unto a good land and a large, unto a land flowing with milk and honey; unto the place of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites.”                 – Exo. 3:8.

 

From scriptures, we understand that God’s kingdom makes great men out of ordinary individuals Mat. 4:19; 5:13-14. But to emerge in greatness will not be an automatic experience of the believer; it is a responsibility every believer must embrace personally. The common denominator of every great story that rose in the scripture is divine encounter with God Deu. 32:9-14.

Learning from those who had encounters with God in scriptures.

1. One encounter with God turned Isaac to the envy of the nation.

Isaac had no serious identity other than being the beloved son of Abraham, until he had an encounter with God Gen. 26:1-4. By that one encounter, he was turned to the envy of his nation of residence, the world power of his days Gen. 26:12-30.

2. One encounter with God turned Solomon to the wisest king of his time.

Solomon was the son of David from Bathsheba, the wife of Uriah that David committed adultery with 2Sam. 12:24. One encounter with God turned Solomon from an ‘illegitimate son’ to the wisest king of his time 1Kgs. 3:3-13;4:29-34.

3. Encounter with God places demands on the believer.

Encounter with God goes with a cost, the believer that pays it is the one that gains access to divine encounter 2Kgs. 2:9-10; Gen. 22:1-5,16-18. When the price for an encounter becomes too costly, the believer is disqualified from divine encounter.

Jesus is Lord!

Prayer.                                                

Father in the name of Jesus, Shiloh 2023 shall be my mountain of encounter with God that will make me to return with a new name from God 1Sam. 3:21.

Action.

Make the decision to pay the price for an encounter with God at Shiloh 2023.
