Memory verse:   

“And he entered into one of the ships, which was Simon’s, and prayed him that he would thrust out a little from the land. And he sat down, and taught the people out of the ship.”

“Now when he had left speaking, he said unto Simon, Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught.”                               Lk. 5:3-4.

New birth brings the believer into God’s kingdom with great and exceeding promises, one of which is life of greatness 2Pet. 1:4; Mat. 5:13-14. The promises are so great that they appear far-fetched to the believer’s natural ability. The outcome of this is that it drives many to pursue it in their strength, which leads to struggles. But we discover from the scriptures that greatness is always a product of encounters with God Lk. 5:3-8.

Helps to experience divine encounters in this ongoing Post-resurrection season.

1. Understand that an encounter with God provides access to the path of life.

The greatness of the believer is premised on his following the right path in life Jer. 6:16. Encounter with God guarantees the believer’s access to the path of life Psa. 16:11; Isa. 30:29-30.

2. Understand that an encounter with God turned Jacob to a nation.

Jacob was struggling despite being the child of Isaac, grandchild of Abraham, and has received the blessing of Abraham through Isaac his father Gen. 27:26-29. When he encountered God, he was suddenly turned into a nation Gen. 32:24-28.

3. Divine encounters occurs where God has appointed for it.

There are places appointed by God to meet with men Jos. 18:1; Deu. 12:13-14. The believer that will experience divine encounter must subscribe to such places.

4. The altar of prayer is an appointed place for divine encounter.

The prayer altar, particularly kingdom advancement prayer, facilitates access to encounters with God Lk. 9:28-35. A believer that gives himself to engage the prayer altar for kingdom advancement is guaranteed an encounter with God.
