Memory verse:

“My son, give me thine heart, and let thine eyes observe my ways.  ”

  • Pro. 23:26.

The scriptures make us to understand that the kingdom of God is a kingdom of giants Matt. 5:13-16; Deut. 28:13. Therefore, one thing that is sure is that one’s lot is to become great, no matter what one’s state was before becoming a member of God’s kingdom. But we need to understand the procedure of the kingdom for this. Our heart plays a central role in maximizing the privileges in God’s kingdom Pro. 4:23; 23:7; Jer. 29:13. A heart that is all out for God and the interest of the kingdom is the believer’s key to the greatness ordained for him by God ISam. 13:14; 2Chr. 16:9.

The interesting thing is that one can know if one’s heart is totally for God or not, and others can assess it also. Scriptures show us that our time is a reflection of our heart Eph. 5:15-16; Col. 4:5. Everyone with a heart for God rose to become the kingdom giants we have in scriptures, and the common denominator of all was submission of their time absolutely to God. Remember, scripture is a record of men’s’ examples that show us how to live in order to command the results that we desire 1Cor. 10:11; Rms. 15:4.

Example of Scriptural Giant made by Engaging their Time for God.

  1. Abraham.

Abraham was ‘a business emperor’ of his days; who was very rich in cattle, gold and silver (the wealth factors of the time) Gen. 13:2. He became so great that scriptures have this to say that he was blessed in all things Gen. 25:1. Remember, Abraham was a failure at seventy-five years, at which point he met with God and his story began to change Gen. 12:1-3. The secret of Abraham’s change of story was that, he would suspend his schedule to obey any instruction from God. God could break into his schedule, and this he did as a lifestyle Gen. 12:1-4; Gen. 17:9-15; Gen. 22:1-4,16-18.  By this lifestyle, he rose to become a friend of God and the father of faith Psa. 105:42; Rms. 4:12.

In essence, we need a heart for God to make the most of our lives in God’s kingdom Matt. 6:32-33. A heart for God is evidenced in engaging quality time for God and the interest of His kingdom. And one cannot have a heart for God and not make great marks on the earth.
