Memory verse:

“My son, give me thine heart, and let thine eyes observe my ways.”

  • Pro. 23:26.

The scriptures make us to understand that life on the earth is defined and described with time Gen. 1:14. This is the reason for the saying time is life. When time is wasted, it is life that is being wasted indirectly. Every believer that will make the most of his walk with God must know how to make the most of his time Eph. 5:16; Col. 4:5. From scriptures, we understand that the way to make the most of our time is to engage our time in the pursuit of God and the interest of His kingdom Ecc. 12:13. This is why everyone that rose to greatness in the kingdom had the testimony of making their time available for God.

Examples of giants in scriptures made through the right use of their time.

  1. The example of David.

David’s beginning could be a pathetic one. He was the eighth son of his father assigned to the care of the family’s business, which was rearing of cattle 1Sam. 17: 12-14,28. When Prophet Samuel came and requested to see all the sons, Jesse their father somehow forgot about David and none of the brothers was least concerned until the prophet requested further 1Sam. 16:5-11-12. This shows the place of David in their heart and the family. Nonetheless, David was not embittered, rather he devoted his time to seek after God and the interest of His kingdom Psa. 42:1; 55:17; 119:46,164. He was so passionate towards God that God called him ‘a man after mine heart’ 1Sam. 13:14. When God was in search of a king over His people, He picked on David for this reason 1Sam. 16:1. A heart for God exhibited with time for Him was the secret of David’s emergence in greatness. Here this, one cannot have a heart for God without making remarkable marks on the earth.
