Memory verse:

“My son, give me thine heart, and let thine eyes observe my ways.”

  • Pro. 23:26.

The scriptures make us to understand that the principles of God’s kingdom are simple, designed to make the yoke or demands of the kingdom light for the believer 2Cor. 11:3; Mat. 11:29. The simplicity of kingdom principles is what make many to have challenge believing that they can handle the complex nature of life problems facing them. The devil takes advantage of this to put men in bondage to his heavy yoke 2Cor. 11:3. One of the simple principles of God’s kingdom is the understanding that time usage is the principal determinant of the outcome of man’s life on the earth Psa. 90:12; Ecc. 9:11. God’s word admonishes the believer to make the most of his time, to avoid evil in his days Eph. 5:16; Col. 4:5. Every giant in scriptures had this as their common trait, the proper use of time.

Examples of giants in scriptures made through the right use of their time.

  1. The example of Job.

Job is recognized by scripture as the greatest man of his day Job. 1:1-3. But Job was a man that was given to engage his time only in the pursuit of God and the things of His kingdom. God testifies of this of Job, the devil attested to it and his wife also Job 1:7-9; 2:9-10. Even in his days of affliction, Job maintained his attitude of engaging his time for God Job 13:15. Job engaged his time in searching to know God, which empowered him to walk in the light of God Job 29:4. He had to enter a covenant, which empowered him to maintain such a discipline over his time Job 31:1-2. No wonder despite the great affliction that came on him, he emerged better than before the affliction Job 42:10-12. The truth is that one cannot have time for God without making outstanding mark on the earth.
