Memory verse:

“And sent his servant at supper time to say to them that were bidden,

Come; for all things are now ready.”

“So that servant came, and shewed his lord these things. Then the master

of the house being angry said to his servant, Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in hither the poor, and the maimed, and the halt, and the blind.”

“And the servant said, Lord, it is done as thou hast commanded, and yet there is room.”

“And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.”

  • Lk. 14:17,21-23.

The church of Christ is not the building, it is the people 1Pet. 2:5; Rms. 12:5. In essence, church growth refers to the increase of the individuals that make up the church, in number and status Jer. 30:19b. But everything in God’s kingdom can only deliver when it follows the way prescribed for it by God Psa. 103:7. Therefore, for the church to experience growth, God’s way to it must be followed. The scriptures make us to understand that believers must go after the unsaved with the gospel of Christ before there can be increase of the church Mk. 16:15-16; Jn. 15:16. How committed God’s people are to going after souls for Christ is what will determine the rate of growth the church will experience.

Strategies for effectiveness in being on the go for Christ.

  1. Commitment by believers to preaching the gospel to the lost.

The gospel is the good news of Christ; the blessing that Christ offers, the change of life a man who accepts Christ to be the Savior and Lord of his life will experience. These are the good news of Christ that must be made known to men, which will encourage them to make the commitment of their lives to Christ. Without someone telling them, there will be no reason for them to surrender their lives to Christ Rms 10:14-17.

  • Fervent prayer engagement.

It is prayer that makes our words to carry impact on the unsaved, without which they may hear us and never do anythgin about what they hear Gal. 4:19; Col. 4:12. in essence, we cannot experience church growth without fervent prayer engagement Lk. 11:21-22; Mat. 17:18-21.

One thing every believer that will be committed to these engagements need is dedication 1Cor. 9:16-17; Lk. 9:62. Dedication is what will make the believer to keep at it until it delivers desired result.
