Memory verse:
“So that servant came, and shewed his lord these things. Then the
master of the house being angry said to his servant, Go out quickly
into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in hither the poor,
and the maimed, and the halt, and the blind.”
“And the servant said, Lord, it is done as thou hast commanded, and
yet there is room.”
“And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and
hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.”
- Lk. 14:21.
The scriptures make us to understand that God’s will for His church is growth Matt. 16:18. The growth is ordained to be supernatural, continuous, and until every unsaved has been given the privilege of salvation by access to the gospel it won’t stop Pro. 4:18; 14:28. Scriptures further make us to understand that God is the master builder of His church, without whom the church will never experience growth no matter what any man do Heb. 3:4; Psa. 127:1-2. But God cannot build His church on the earth without the believers building with Him Psa. 115:16. The understanding from scriptures of how to build with God is the secret of supernatural church growth.
The believer must plant and water, for God to go to work and bring growth in His church 1Cor. 3:6-9. This implies the church that will grow must have the people accept the responsibility of spiritual labor, which will put them on the go for Christ continuously. The focus of our teaching this week is on the various ways we engage in this spiritual labor of being on the go for Christ for the growth of His church. Get ready for a new experience in your service for God from this week.
Ways of Being on the Go for Christ towards Church Growth.
- A commitment to tell somebody about the testimony of Christ in the church.
The scriptures make us to understand that until the people hear the gospel they don’t have the opportunity to believe in Christ, and somebody must speak to them for them to hear Rms. 10:14-15. In essence, somebody must tell another ‘come and see’ before they will choose either to come or not Jn. 1:40-42.
- A commitment to prayer engagement.
The scriptures make us to understand that God is limited to do only what the believer ask of Him Matt. 7:7-8. Therefore, every church that will grow must have her people given to the life of prayer, demanding for the advancement of God’s kingdom and the growth of the church Ezk. 36:37; Psa. 2:8.
