Memory verse:   

“And he taught, saying unto them, Is it not written, My house shall be called of all nations the house of prayer? but ye have made it a den of thieves. ”

• Mk. 11:17.

From scriptures, the believer is described as God’s building 1Cor. 6:19; 3:9. Further, the scriptures say the house of God is ordained a house of prayer, a place where prayer must be constantly going on Mk. 11:17. In essence, the believer’s primary purpose is to engage in prayer all the time Lk. 18:1; 1Ths. 5:17. And from Jesus’ teaching on prayer, we understand that kingdom advancement is to be the priority of the prayer that will command heaven’s attention and response Mat. 6:9-10. Therefore, praying kingdom advancement prayer is not just for pastors and church leaders but every believer who will maximize his privilege of new birth.

Examples of Saints in the Bible who though not ordained are intercessors.

1. Abraham.

Abraham was a business emperor, into animal farm and ranching Gen. 13:1-2. The bible identifies him as a great servant of God, serving God in prayer, who will intercede for nations to avert God’s judgment Psa. 105:42; Gen. 18:20-23. Abraham rose to become a blessed man in all things Gen. 24:1.

What Are we to Pray for?

1. Pray continuously for church growth.

The growth of the church is the heartbeat of God Mat. 16:18. The church grows as souls get saved and are added to the church Acts 2:6,41-47. But the labor room of prayer is the birthplace of souls into the kingdom that will result in supernatural church growth Isa. 66:7-8; Acts 6:4,7. When we turn many to righteousness through prayer, we emerge a star in life Dan. 12:3. In essence, it is not a waste of effort investing into kingdom advancement prayer, it makes destiny.

Jesus is Lord!

Prayer.                                                

Father, in the name of Jesus, baptize me with the Spirit of grace and supplication afresh Zch. 12:10.
