Memory verse:

The question today is what is the thing about having the church attendance double? Why are we pressing hard about the attendance of the church becoming double like this? Someone might be thinking, is it not because we want our church to be bigger than others? The answer is NO! Then, what are we after? First, it is in obedience to the instruction of God to reconcile the world to Him Matt. 28:19-20; 2Cor. 5:18-20. Also, it is to bring joy, honor and glory to the name of our God Lk. 15:7; Jn. 15:8; Pro. 14:28. Again, it is to contribute our bit to the community; when a soul is saved and added to the church, the number of bad influence in the community has reduced 2Cor. 5:17.

Scriptures make us to understand that nothing is too difficult for our God Jer. 32:27,17. Therefore, it is not a challenge with God to double the attendance of this church next Sunday. But to get this done, we have certain responsibilities. Let’s examine a few of them in today’s teaching.

The Covenant Forces to Invoke God to Double Church Attendance Suddenly.

1. We must engage our faith in God that can make anything happen in a moment.

We have many instances in scriptures where Jesus in a moment made awesome things to happen. A leper met Him while coming down from the mountain, Jesus touched him, declared his healing, and immediately the leper was made whole Matt. 8:1-3. At the tomb of Lazarus, scriptures recorded that Jesus cried out the name of Lazarus, and the dead man who was already dead for four days immediately came forth Jn. 11:40-44. Our God has not change, our faith in Him as the God that can make things happen in a moment is what will move Him to repeat these strange acts, and deliver double attendance in the church this Sunday.

• We must keep rejoicing in the Lord.

In this kingdom, one sure way to invoke God into our situation for sudden, dramatic turnaround, and release of our desired testimony is joy and rejoicing Phil. 4:4; Joel. 1:11-12. Joy and rejoicing is the atmosphere that invokes God’s manifest presence, when God manifests, He delivers the desires of His children suddenly Psa. 67:5-7.

With men, the double attendance church growth is an impossibility within one week. When God is involved, every impossible situation an turns into a cheap possibility Mk. 10:27. Therefore, I see unusual increase this Sunday that will make the double church attendance a reality.

Jesus is Lord!

Prayer.

Father in the name of Jesus, give us all heathen across the city of Calabar as you draw them with your hand into this assembly to meet with Christ come next Sunday, thereby fulfilling the prophetic word of double attendance come Sunday Psa. 2:8.

Action.

Take up the name of every of your contacts and converts this week and before in prayer, for them to stand firm in their decision for Christ and be compelled into the church on Sunday.
