We are in perilous times; a time when evil and wickedness are becoming the norm, and have covered everywhere (Isa. 60:2; Mat. 24:21-22). Scripture makes us understand that we serve a God of rescue, who is committed to ransoming His children from all that the world around them is ordained to suffer (Hos. 13:14; Psa. 102:19-21). A good understanding of God’s covenant for rescue and commitment to walk in it is believer’s guarantee to enjoy divine rescue (Psa. 89:34).

Covenant Demands for Our Rescue.

  1. Be Genuinely Born Again.

Salvation entitles a believer to rescue from whatever destroys others; despising salvation makes people vulnerable and victims in life (Heb. 2:3; Pro. 18:10).

  1. Be Committed to Serving God.

Serving God invokes the hand of God on a believer for his rescue from all devourers (Mal. 3:17-18; Exo. 4:22-23). Serving God essentially involves active engagement in what brings growth and expansion to God’s kingdom and the church; it is beyond being active in church (Hag. 1:8).

  1. A Cry for Mercy.

This is a vital lifeline for rescue; a cry of mercy will always arrest God’s attention for intervention (Mk. 1:40-41; Lk. 7:13-15). Mercy is a covenant force that turns error into testimony, mistakes into excellence, helplessness into breakthrough, weakness into strength, punishment into rewards etc. (Hab. 3:2-6). This implies there is no issue of concern in one’s life that God’s mercy cannot clear out or turnaround, no matter how desperate or deplorable it seems (Mat. 9:27-29). Every child of God is redeemed and ordained to obtain mercy (Rms. 9:10-13,23-26; Eph. 1:2-6).

Conclusion.

Stop watching life; take responsibility for your rescue starting today!

Salvation Prayer.

To anyone reading this who desires to give their life to Christ, pray this prayer out loud with me from your heart:

“Lord Jesus, I surrender my life to you today. Forgive me my sins; wash me with your blood. I believe you died for me; on the third day you rose again that I may be justified. Right now, I believe that my sins are forgiven; I’m justified by your blood; I’m born-again; I’m saved; I’m a child of God; I’m free from the power of sin to serve the living God. Thank you, Jesus, for receiving me; thank you Jesus for restoring me; thank you Jesus for saving me. Amen!”

Prayer.

  1. Father, I am child of mercy; let Your mercy answer in every area of my life right now (Rms. 9:15-16).
  2. Father, remember Your mercy and rescue my life from struggle, hardship, failure in my business, career, academics, marriage, family etc. (Hab. 3:2-6).
  3. Father, cause Your mercy to deliver me from everything that is destroying my effort from producing results (Hos. 13:14).
