Destiny biblically connotes a pre-determined end or destination for an individual in life. Every child of God is a child of destiny, which means that there is the pre-determined end for every believer on the earth (Eph. 1:11-12). What is the defined end for a believer in life?
- A Glorious Destiny.
Every believer is ordained for a life of glory on the earth, irrespective of all prevailing circumstances in his life (Rms. 8:29-30).
- An Enviable Destiny.
God’s design for believer’s life on the earth is to be envied by all (Gen. 26:12-14; Gal. 4:28).
- A Prosperous Destiny.
A believer is redeemed to enjoy a prosperous life on the earth, no matter where he is found and the situation surrounding his life (2Cor. 8:9; 3Jn. 2).
- A Royal Destiny.
Every child of God is ordained a king to reign on the earth, not to be a slave or struggling (Rev. 5:9-10). This means that a believer is to enjoy royal treatment anywhere he is found.
Encounter with destiny means the experience of gaining access to the fulfilment of what was pre-determined for one’s life on the earth. To gain this access, it involves the following:
- Revelation of our destiny as believers; the clearer we see these, the faster we realize them (Jer. 1:11-12).
- The understanding of what it takes to fulfill our destiny (Ecc. 10:15).
What Does it Takes to Fulfill Our Glorious Destiny in Christ.
- Be Genuinely Born Again.
It is when a person comes into Christ that he receives power to fulfill the great life ordained for him on the earth (Jn. 1:12; 3:3-5). No man can gain access to his God ordained destiny outside of Christ, such is left with his human energy, it makes for struggle and often frustration and failure (Zch. 4:6; 1Jn. 5:11).
- Be Committed to Serving God.
Serving God imparts with supernatural might and power to pursue and actualize the greatness ordained for a believer (Php. 2:5-9). Everyone serving God keeps changing levels until he steps into his place in destiny (Lk. 19:17-19; 22:25-27).
- Stay in Love with God.
Love for God grants believers access to the secret things of God, which empowers for fulfilment of the great destiny ordained for him in Christ (Jn. 15:15; Deu. 29:29). When a believer makes the choice to love God above all, he has secured the ticket to experience his glorious destiny (1Cor. 2:9-10).
- Walk in the Fear of God.
The fear of God means hatred for all that God hates, and love for everything that excites God (Pro. 8:13). The fear of God grants access to God’s secrets that empowers for fulfilment of one’s glorious destiny as we saw in Joseph (Gen. 41:38; 42:18; Psa. 25:14).
- Keep Walking in the Light of the Word.
The “light of God’s Word” refers to the understanding of the Word that enables one can to put it to work correctly to deliver desired result (Isa. 60:1-3). Walking in the light of the word empowers for exploits, which results in the fulfilment of our glorious destiny like we saw in Apostle Paul (2Cor. 12:7; Gal. 2:2; Eph. 3:1-5; 5:8).
Conclusion.
You have a great and glorious destiny awaiting you, to step into it is by accepting the responsibility for its fulfilment. Stop waiting, rise up, and begin to work towards the great life prepared for you now (Php. 2:12).
Salvation Prayer.
To anyone reading this who desires to give their life to Christ, pray this prayer out loud with me from your heart:
“Lord Jesus, I surrender my life to you today. Forgive me my sins; wash me with your blood. I believe you died for me; on the third day you rose again that I may be justified. Right now, I believe that my sins are forgiven; I’m justified by your blood; I’m born-again; I’m saved; I’m a child of God; I’m free from the power of sin to serve the living God. Thank you, Jesus, for receiving me; thank you Jesus for restoring me; thank you Jesus for saving me. Amen!”
Prayer.
- Father, by your Spirit give me revelation of the destiny ordained for me in Christ, thereby opening my eye of understanding to capture my glorious future (Eph. 1:17-18).
- Father, endow me by your Spirit with grace for tireless pursuit of my glorious destiny till accomplishment from today (Zch. 4:6-7).

God’s will for His children is supernatural recovery of all the enemy has destroyed, stolen, and denied his access to in life (1Sam. 30:6-9,17-18). Recovery, among others, includes: time (Eph. 5:16), opportunities (Gen. 12:1; 11:31), redemptive rights, and inheritances in Christ such as health, riches, glory etc. (Rev. 5:12; Jer. 30:17). Interestingly, the Holy Spirit […]
God’s kingdom, to which we belong by redemption, promises life in abundance; one characteristic of this life is all-round rest (Jn. 10:10; Heb. 4:1,9-10). This means that all-round rest is God’s will for every redeemed (Jn. 14:27). Scripture states categorically that God’s kingdom operates on keys; keys here connote revelation for accessing the provisions of […]
By redemption, believers are not to suffer what the world around suffers (Gal. 6:17). Like: economic depression, famine, storms of evil, marital crises, the scourge of divorce, high risks of health breakdown etc. The Israelites in Egypt are vivid examples of divine exemption, as they were exempted from all plagues (Exo. 8:20-24; 9:1-7,18-24; 10:21-23; 11:4-7). Every child of God has the heritage of turnaround on the earth (Pro. 4:18; Deu. 2:3). This means that no matter the situation or level a child of God might be found, there is bound to be a turning and it is for better. The turnaround heritage is only for those who are genuine children […]
