Curses are real; they are spiritual forces that make evil happen in the physical, no matter what the victim does to prevent it (Isa. 42:22).
Characteristics of Curses.
- Every Curse has the Evil or Negative Occurrence it Enforces in the Physical.
When a person has done what is expected, yet negative things happen, a curse is most likely at work (Due. 28:15-66).
- Every Curse has its Cause.
When things are not working, don’t just say it’s the devil; look inward for the cause (Pro. 26:2; Jer. 2:14-17).
- Every Curse is Transferable.
Curses travel down the lineage. This manifests same negative trends from one generation to another; like failure syndrome, marital crisis, bareness, hereditary diseases etc. (Jer. 31:29). We popularly call this generational curse.
- Every Curse Can Be Broken.
Curses can be reversed or broken; when this is done, the physical effects are terminated immediately (Col. 2:14; Mat. 15:13).
Covenant Forces for Breaking Curses.
- Genuine Salvation.
Genuine salvation brings a person under the blessing of Abraham; when one is blessed by God, he walks free from all curses (Gal. 3:13-14; Num. 23:8).
- Faith in God.
Bible faith is a spiritual force with the capacity to silence all negative forces including curses, and establish believer’s victory and freedom (Eph. 6:16; 1Jn. 5:4). But faith is a personal responsibility that is built by feeding and practicing God’s word (Rms. 10:17).
- Serving God.
Serving God and the interests of His kingdom brings and sustains under God’s blessings (Exo. 23:25-26; Mat. 6:33). And God’s blessing is the cure for curses (Gen. 12:3).
- The Blood of Jesus.
The blood of Jesus has the power to bring a person out of any spiritual force to establish him in freedom (Rev. 12:11). We engage the blood by – declaring it with the mouth (Zch. 9:11-12), drinking in communion (1Cor. 10:16), and sprinkling (Heb. 12:24).
- God’s Mercy.
The mercy of God is a covenant force that secures liberty from every negative spiritual force (Lam. 3:22-23). We invoke God’s mercy by pleading for it in prayer (Hab. 3:1-2).
Conclusion.
No curse that has plagued anyone’s life shall escape today; all shall be broken and their effects reversed right now!
Salvation Prayer.
To anyone reading this who desires to give their life to Christ, pray this prayer out loud with me from your heart:
“Lord Jesus, I surrender my life to you today. Forgive me my sins; wash me with your blood. I believe you died for me; on the third day you rose again that I may be justified. Right now, I believe that my sins are forgiven; I’m justified by your blood; I’m born-again; I’m saved; I’m a child of God; I’m free from the power of sin to serve the living God. Thank you, Jesus, for receiving me; thank you Jesus for restoring me; thank you Jesus for saving me. Amen!”
Prayer.
- Father, I receive Your grace to engage with the covenant forces as a lifestyle for my freedom from all curses of life from today (Zch. 4:7).
- Father, every force working negative and evil occurrences in my life is not of You, I command them rooted out of my life now (Mat. 15:13; Mk. 11:23).
- Father, by the blood of Jesus, every curse is taken out of my life now and my liberty is established forever (Zch. 9:11-12).

Redemption brought believers into the inheritance of God’s family; one of which is fruitfulness (Acts 20:32; Psa. 1:3; 127:3-5). Fruitfulness is vital for every believer for the following reasons among many: God commands it (Gen. 1:28). God frowns at unfruitfulness (Lk. 13:6-9). Fruits define and determine the future (Jn. 15:1-2). Fruitfulness is the heritage of […]
