Memory verse:

“Then came the first, saying, Lord, thy pound hath gained ten pounds.”

“And he said unto him, Well, thou good servant: because thou hast been faithful in a very little, have thou authority over ten cities.”

“And the second came, saying, Lord, thy pound hath gained five pounds.”

“And he said likewise to him, Be thou also over five cities.”

  • Lk. 19:16-19.

The scriptures make us to understand that God’s kingdom operate a reward system Rev. 22:12. But we don’t beg for rewards in God’s kingdom, sentiment has nothing to do with it, it is by labor 1Cor. 3:8. Every labor a believer engages in the kingdom entitles him for appropriate reward Pro. 14:23. Therefore, the choice of individuals to obey or disobey scriptural commandment is what determines is qualification for kingdom rewards Deu. 30:19; Mat. 21:28-31. But just like in any other organization, we need to be well instructed on how the reward system of God operates for us not to labor in vain.

What makes the believer’s labor to command rewards in the kingdom.

  1. God responds to results obtained not just our participation in a given task.

In every given task there is the expected result, and it is when the expected result is delivered that one becomes entitled for the reward Lk. 19:13-19. We must therefore be result driven not just labor conscious Lk. 19:20-24.

  • We are rewarded for harvest gathered not just contacts made.

Winning of the souls to Christ is the chief task of the believer, popularly referred to as the ‘great commission’ Mat. 28:19-20. Our reward is based on the quantity of harvest that we gather into the kingdom, not just the effort we made Jn. 4:35-36.

  • God does not reward groups, He rewards individuals.

God’s kingdom reward system operates on individual basis 1Cor. 3:8. Each believer shall be rewarded for the result he delivered from the effort he invested. When we belong to a group, our contribution towards the result will determine the reward we shall receive.
