Memory verse:

“And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto

you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give

 it you.”

“Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive,

that your joy may be full.”

  • Jn. 16:23-24.

We serve the God of wonders Job 9:10; Psa. 136:4. As His children, we are entitled to enjoy His wonders as our normal experience in life Lk. 15:11-12. In essence, the kingdom life that salvation offers is a life that ought to be full of wonders. God gave the believer the prayer altar as a core access to His wonders Jn. 16:23-24; Lk. 9:28-33. Therefore, engaging the prayer altar is vital to maximize the kingdom life. Almost every believer prays, but very few experience the wonders. Why? One major reason is because God’s kingdom operates by principles 1Cor. 14:33. One vital principle for prayer to deliver is being specific in one’s demand Mk. 10:46-52. When the believer’s prayer is ambiguous, he may never have response from God.

Scriptural Examples of Specific Demands on the Prayer Altar.

  1. Ezra Ezr. 8:21-23.

Ezra was a priest for the Jews at the time the king of Babylon permitted their return to their native land of Jerusalem. They had boasted to the king of the capacity of the living God to do wonders. Now that they were to return, there was the threat of bandits on the way. Ezra led the people to ask specifically for God to direct them, and grant them safety to Jerusalem Ezr. 8:21. And God did what they asked for Ezr. 8:31-32.

  • David 1Sam. 30:6-9,12-14; 2Sam. 5:18-21,22-28.

David the king of Israel, had the testimony of fighting the highest number of battles among the kings of Israel, and never lost one. One secret to this wonder record was that he will ask for specific direction for victory in every battle. And God will always give him the direction, which results in his victory all the time.

Remember, praying for kingdom advancement is key to maximizing the prayer altar Mat. 6:9-10,33. Therefore, as we identify our specific need, we focus on the kingdom in prayer and God meets the needs.
