ENGAGING THE WONDERS OF SPECIFIC DEMANDS ON OUR PRAYER ALTAR PT. 2.

Memory verse:

“And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto

you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give

 it you.”

“Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive,

that your joy may be full.”

  • Jn. 16:23-24.

Prayer is the believer’s edge in the race of life; but many have reduced it to mere religious duty and burden. What the prayer altar offers the believer is incomparable to anything on this earth; the privilege to talk one-on-one with the almighty God Heb. 4:16; Isa. 1:18. Just think of having the privilege to be invited for a personal time with the USA president, most powerful individual on the earth today. But there are protocols to maximize such privileges with men, how much more with God. Scriptures teach us that specific demand on the prayer altar is what it takes to make prayer deliver result. Generalized prayers don’t receive God’s attention; therefore will not deliver anything Mk. 10:46-52.

Scriptural Examples of Specific Demands on the Prayer Altar.

  1. Nehemiah Neh. 2:1-8.

Nehemiah was the cup bearer in the palace, but with a passion to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem Neh. 1:3-5. He had the opportunity of the king asking him what he wanted, and he demanded of the king to rebuild Jerusalem walls Neh. 2:4-6. He further itemized the things he needed for the work, and requested the king for all of them. And God moved the king to give all he requested for.

  • Elisha 2Kgs. 2:9-15.

Elisha was one of the sons of the prophet, in the school of ministry of Elijah the prophet 2Kgs. 2:2-3. It was time for Elijah to depart the earth, and Elisha was given the privilege to ask what he wanted before Elijah departure. Elisha was very specific, he demanded for double portion of the spirit on Elijah 2Kgs. 2:9. And Elisha got what he demanded for.

The best way to enjoy the prayer altar is to focus on kingdom matters Mat. 6:33. We must make specific demands on God for double church growth this year, with specific figures of what we desire to see. As we do, watch the effect on your personal issues.
