ENGAGING THE WONDERS OF SPECIFIC DEMANDS ON OUR PRAYER ALTAR PT. 1.

Memory verse:

“And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto

you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give

 it you.”

“Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive,

that your joy may be full.”

  • Jn. 16:23-24.

Redemption has placed the believer at an advantage in life. one of such advantage the believer has is prayer; the privilege to approach the throne of God at anytime on anything with the confidence of obtaining his desire Heb. 4:16; Jn. 16:23-24; Mat. 7:7-8. But we must appreciate the truth that God’s kingdom operates by covenant, which means demands to observe to qualify for what is available Jer. 33:21-26. One vital demand in the place of prayer is being specific on our demands Jms. 4:2. Generalized prayers don’t receive God’s attention; therefore will not deliver anything Mk. 10:46-52. A look into scriptures shows that all that commanded great result in the place of prayer are men that demand for specific things. These biblical records are to show us how to get things done as a believer Heb. 6:12; 1Cor. 11:10.

Scriptural Examples of Specific Demands on the Prayer Altar.

  1. Hannah 1Sam. 1:1-10,11-19.

The first wife of Elkanah, but was barren. Every year that they go to worship at Shiloh that became the focus of Hannah’s prayer. Nothing happened until the year she was specific in her prayer, when she demanded for a son 1Sam. 1:11. God answered her with Samuel and other five children after 1Sam. 1:20,27; 2:20-21.

  • Solomon 1Kgs. 3:3-11; 4:29-34.

He was the son that took over the throne after king David. God requested of Solomon to ask Him for anything 1Kgs. 3:5. Solomon was very specific, he asked for the understanding heart that will enable him rule the people of God well 1Kgs. 3:9-10. God answered expressly, and gave more to Solomon 1Kgs. 3:12-13.

Scriptures instruct us to engage the prayer altar primarily for kingdom advancement, to make our prayer more productive Mat. 6:9-10,33. As we build faith towards the issue of interest in our life, our demand on the prayer altar should be focused on God’s kingdom. When we do, the response we will experience in prayer will be amazing!
