The altar of prayer and fasting is the altar of express answers to prayers Isa. 58:6,9. Answers to our prayers are dependent on our level of empowerment Eph. 3:20. Thanksgiving is a cheap way to invoke God’s power; it facilitates delivery of answers to our prayers Psa. 92:1-2,10; Php. 4:6-7. We must therefore look forward to taking delivery of answers to our prayers from this week by engaging much thanksgiving at the prayer and fasting altar.

Getting Yourself Ready for Encounter with Answered Prayer.

Every prophetic scripture is a sworn verdict by God and settled in heaven forever Isa. 14:24; Psa. 119:89. Every prophetic scripture is a covenant that remains in force while the earth remains Jer. 33:20-21; Mat. 24:35. They apply for all times and to whoever believes 1Pet. 1:23; Lk. 1:45. We have the prophetic word in the Winners Family for the year, which is ‘Open Doors’ in the Winners’ Family Rev. 3:7-8. A core of the prophetic verdict of open doors is marital breakthrough Gen. 2:17-18; Psa. 68:6.

Covenant Pathway to Marital Breakthrough.

Marital breakthrough in our context refers to the following:

  1. i) Destruction of spells of marital delays, no suitors, incessant broken engagements, and the likes.
  2. ii) Termination of marital unrest, incessant quarrels, fights, threats or actual separation, divorce etc.

Covenant Forces for Success in Our Matrimony.

  1. Be Committed to Your Marital Success.

Marriage is the foundation of everything in life; this is why we must be committed to its success, because when the foundation is destroyed efforts become futile Psa. 11:3. It takes commitment to marriage to make it work Gen. 2:24-25.

  1. Have Respect for the Marriage Covenant.

We must understand the terms of the covenant of marriage and give ourselves to practice them Psa. 74:20; Dan. 11:32.

What are the Terms of Marriage Covenant?

  1. The Wife is to Submit to Her Own Husband.

This is to be done as unto the Lord, and in everything Eph. 5:22-24,33.

2. The Husband is to Love His Wife.

This is as Christ loves the church, by nourishing and honoring her Eph. 5:25,29-30; 1Pet. 3:7.

3. Beware of Waiting for Your Spouse to Align with the Covenant.

The genuine alignment of one will influence the spouse to become aligned, once your faith is alive 1Cor. 7:12-14.

Covenant Forces for Marital Settlement.

This simply means how to be settled in one’s desired marriage.

  1. Recognize that Marriage is a Good Thing.

Marriage is good and honorable; it is ordained by God to make man have only good and honorable experiences Gen. 2:18; Heb. 13:4. God has committed Himself to give every good thing to His children Psa. 84:1; Mat. 7:11. When it is good, God won’t delay in giving it Pro. 3:27-28; Psa. 46:1.

  1. Marriage is Under God’s Absolute Authority.

Our God is the one who sets people in families Psa. 68:6. He is committed to settling everyone, but His children come first Mat. 5:45; Mk. 7:27. God will settle only His children that are due; what makes us due is self-discovery Gal. 6:9; Pro. 3:27-28. Self-discovery in this context includes the understanding of one’s purpose and values Jer. 1:5; Amos 3:3.

  1. The Devil is Behind Every Marital Challenge.

Marital challenges are mostly issues of oppression of the devil Mat. 13:28; Eph. 6:16.

  1. Faith Guarantees Victory Over Oppression of the Devil.

Faith will silence all works of the devil, especially when coupled with prayer and fasting Mat. 17:19-21; Eph. 6:16. Faith is obeying God to prove that we believe Him, thereby invoking His power to work Jms. 2:18-22.

Foundation for Our Glorious Marital Destiny.

These are essentials that must be in place for anyone to experience marital breakthrough of any kind desired Psa. 11:3.

  1. Be Saved and Remain in Love with God.

Salvation qualifies an individual to experience the good things of God and the kingdom Jn. 3:3-5. Love for God makes everything work towards the good of a believer Rms. 8:28.

  1. Remain Committed to Kingdom Endeavors.

When God’s kingdom becomes the driving force of one’s life, every good thing in life hall be added without one’s need to sweat Mat. 6:33.

  1. Beware of Pride.

Pride is the quality of having an excessively high opinion of oneself or one’s importance. It causes God to resist an individual, thereby denying him every good thing in life Jms. 4:6; Pro. 16:18. For one to experience honor in marriage, humility is vital Heb. 13:4; Pro. 15:33.

Conclusion.

The devil knows how fundamental marriage is, the reason his attack on the marital life of individuals is intense. Breakthrough is sure when we walk by the covenant.

Salvation Prayer.

To anyone reading this who desires to give their life to Christ, pray this prayer out loud with me from your heart:

“Lord Jesus, I surrender my life to you today. Forgive me my sins; wash me with your blood. I believe you died for me; on the third day you rose again that I may be justified. Right now, I believe that my sins are forgiven; I’m justified by your blood; I’m born-again; I’m saved; I’m a child of God; I’m free from the power of sin to serve the living God. Thank you, Jesus, for receiving me; thank you Jesus for restoring me; thank you Jesus for saving me. Amen!”

Prayer.

  1. Father, in the name of Jesus, empower me by the Holy Spirit for the last week of the ongoing 21 days of prayer and fasting, thereby bringing me to the next level of power 4:1-2,14.
  2. Father, empower me by Your Spirit, to align with the covenant of marriage, resulting in my marital glory 74:20.
  3. Father, I cause every evil planting against my marital life and I curse them to wither from the root now 11:23.
  4. Father, I step into the destiny of marital glory ordained for me right now 4:17.
