Memory verse:
“Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations, according to that which was spoken, So shall thy seed be.”
“And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sara’s womb:”
“He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God;”
- Rms. 4:18-20.
Prophecy means the unveiling of divine purpose to a people or person; it is not psychological prediction Isa. 42:8-9. What God unveils as His plan is an indication of what is available in the spirit realm, our thanksgiving is the spiritual force that converts it into physical reality Eph. 1:3; Psa. 65:5-7. In essence, the believer must accept the demand of giving God the glory to see such revealed divine purpose come to pass in his life Rms. 4:18-20.
Examining the power of thanksgiving in making prophecy come to fulfillment.
- The case of Paul exemplifies the power of thanksgiving.
Paul was held as a prisoner, and was on voyage to Rome on appeal to Caesar, against the death sentence by the Jews. The voyage became rough by reason of a heavy storm, with all hope lost of their survival. Then, Paul received a prophetic word from God through an angel of the safety of everyone’s life Acts 27:23-25. Paul instructed everyone to rejoice and be joyful, thereby enforcing the prophecy into reality Acts 27:22,24.
- Thanksgiving boosts fulfillment of prophecy.
The scriptures make us to understand that whatever God has said requires that we do the will of God to take delivery of it in the physical Heb. 10:36. Thanksgiving is identified in scriptures as God’s will in every situation 1Ths. 5:18. In essence, thanksgiving will enable the believer take delivery of prophetic word without fail.
The fulfillment of a prophetic word is absolutely dependent on the believer, by his response to the scriptural demand Isa. 1:19. Fundamentally, this is giving glory to God.
