ENGAGING THE POWER OF EXPECTATION FOR ENTRY INTO OUR PROMISED LAND PT. 6.

Memory verse:

“For the LORD thy God bringeth thee into a good land, a land of brooks

of water, of fountains and depths that spring out of valleys and hills;”

“A land of wheat, and barley, and vines, and fig trees, and pomegranates;

 a land of oil olive, and honey;”

“A land wherein thou shalt eat bread without scarceness, thou shalt not

 lack any thing in it; a land whose stones are iron, and out of whose hills

 thou mayest dig brass.”

“When thou hast eaten and art full, then thou shalt bless the LORD thy

 God for the good land which he hath given thee.”

  • Deut. 8:7-10.

By redemption, the believer is called into life in abundance, but the experience of many is far from what can be called life Jn. 10:10. This is because the reality of the abundant life can only be experienced as the believer gains access into his promised land Deut. 8:7-10. Many believers like the tribe of Reuben, Gad and half of Manasseh settle while they are yet, but about to step into the Promised Land Jos. 13:15-23. This often is because they are ready for the responsibility required to possess the Promised Land. But there is nothing to be compared with stepping into one’s Promised Land.

In life, there is always a price to pay in order to win the prize. We have identified expectation as the requirement to gain access into one’s Promised Land. Expectation is simply faith in expression, when it is triggered by God’s word. Faith (expectation based on the word) is the believer’s access to every good thing in the kingdom, the promised land inclusive Pro. 23:18. What is in expectation that make it this powerful?

Understanding How Expectation Works to Deliver Result Without Delay.

  1. Expectation is what makes the believer’s desires to be released in prayer.

Scriptures make us to understand that the desire one has in prayer is what will be delivered Mk. 11:24. But it is what one believe, which means what one expect, that empowers the release of the desire. A vivid example is the case of Abraham’s servant Gen. 24:7-11,12-26. He prayer for divine speed in getting a wife for Isaac, His master son. And he was highly expectant, because he was carefully watching. Bible records have it that God granted him his desired request.

We have investment much in prayer towards the forthcoming 40th anniversary of this commission. We must remain confident in the reality of our expectations, and we are sure to return with the testimony of our stepping into the land God has ordained for each of us as individuals Heb. 10:35-36.
