Memory verse:
“And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead,
when he was about an hundred ears old, neither yet the deadness of
Sara’s womb:”
“He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was
strong in faith, giving glory to God;”
“And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able
also to perform.”
- Rom 4:19-21.
From scriptures, we understand that thanksgiving and praise are not mere items in Christian worship services but weapon of our faith 2Cor. 10:4. It is one thing to have a weapon and another to have the understanding of how to operate the weapon. When the understanding of the use of a weapon is lacking, it becomes useless to the one who has it. Thanksgiving is celebration of God for who He is and what He has done in one’s life, while praise is the celebration of God for who He is and what He can do by reason of what His word says about Him Psa. 92:1-3; Psa. 56:4,10.
When a believer engages in thanksgiving and praise, God is invoked to work in his life and situation Exo. 15:11. Among others, God remembers the things He has promised concerning the believer yet to be fulfilled, and He works to bring them to pass right away Psa. 146:6,9. In essence, a believer that is committed to thanksgiving and praise cannot have a failed prophecy or divine promise in his life. Examples of scriptures are to help the believer maximize the abundant life that Christ offers; we shall be taking a look at a powerful example in today’s teaching. Be blessed!
Scriptural Example of fulfillment of prophecy through thanksgiving.
- The example of Jehoshaphat.
Jehoshaphat was one of the kings of Judah; three nations came against Judah in battle at a point in his reign. By all statistics, the battle was not in the favor of Judah with defeat being imminent, this made Jehoshaphat and all Judah to cry to God reminding Him of His promises 2Chr. 20:1-3,5-12. Then, the prophetic word came to Jehoshaphat and Judah that they won’t need to fight in the battle, for it is the Lords 2Chr. 20:15-17. To make this promise come to pass, Jehoshaphat and Judah began to sing and praise the Lord, and God took over the battle to establish their supernatural victory 2Chr. 20:22-24. What God has done for anyone, He will do for any other who will engage the same principle.
Therefore, with thanksgiving and praise we can invoke God to the fulfillment of continuous new heights ordained for the believer and the full delivery of the turnaround package for 2021 Acts 2:46-47; Pro. 4:18; Psa. 126:1-3.
