ENGAGING THE GRACE FOR CONTINUITY IN STEWARDSHIP PT. 1.

Memory verse:

“Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made

ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season?”

“Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so

 doing.”

“Verily I say unto you, That he shall make him ruler over all his goods.”

  • Matt. 24:45-47.

Scriptures make us to understand that the beauty and glory of God’s kingdom is in commitment to serving God and the interest of His kingdom Job 36:11; Lk. 22:25-27. This is the believer’s guarantee to enjoy all that God’s kingdom has to offer. But we need to understand that it is not enough to just engage in kingdom stewardship, we must remain committed to the very end for our labor to have eternal reward Matt. 24:13; 1Cor. 15:58. Some people get excited with serving God at the onset, but soon begin to lose the momentum, with some having their zeal ultimately going off. This trend is what the scripture prophesied will characterize the last days 2Ths. 2:3.  We must therefore guard ourselves against this syndrome of the last days, in order not to be a victim.

The scriptures give us the solution to this, and it is in the grace for continuity, which we all need in order to remain on fire in our service to the end 1Cor. 15:58. Scriptures say nothing is new under the sun, and scriptural records were intentional to show examples 1Cor. 11:10; Rms. 15:4. Therefore, our teachings this week will be to identify examples of men who carried the grace for continuity in scriptures, so we can tap into it for our lives Heb. 6:12.

Scriptural Examples of Men with Grace for Continuity.

  1. Abraham.

Abraham began his walk with God at 75, and kept at it till 175 when he departed the earth Gen. 12:1-4; 24:1; 25:8. In essence, Abraham hd a successful and unbroken walk with God for 100 years.

  • Joseph.

Joesph began his walk with God at 17, evidenced in his fear of God, and remained fervently committed all through his ordeal and reign in Egypt till he departed at 110 Gen. 39:1-9; 42:!8; 50:24. This was a committed and unbroken walka ns service for 93 years.

  • Solomon.

Solomon was recorded to have a quality walk and amazing service to God at the onset of his reign 1Kgs. 3:3. But he fell off this quality walk and service after 20 years 1Kgs. 9:10; 11:1-9,24.

Scriptures make us to understand that whatever a believer achieves is by reason of grace 1Cor. 15:10; Zch. 4:6-7. Therefore, everyone that desires to be steadfast in stewardship tp the end needs the grace for continuity Acts 26:22. But grace is only accessible on the prayer altar, hence we must engage the prayer altar to secure it on our lives Heb. 4:16.

Jesus is Lord!
