Church growth means increase in the number of individuals who have made a commitment of their life to Christ by renouncing the life of sin, and have settled with God in the church Col. 1:13-14. The task of church growth involves going to the unsaved with the gospel, and it is the core of God’s assignment for the believer Mk. 15:15-16; Jn. 15:16. How well the believer fairs in this task has a lot to do with his rewards and how he fairs in life Pro. 14:23; 10:22. We therefore need a good understanding of how to deliver on this task of church growth.

Understanding required for the believer to deliver church growth.

1. Church growth is warfare, and it is a battle against the gods of this world.

The gods of Egypt held the Israelite down in Egypt, not really Pharaoh. The day the gods of Egypt were judged, Israelite came out of captivity Exo. 12:12-13. In the same vein, the gods of this world responsible for holding those ordained for eternal life in sin must be confronted in battle Mat. 13:24-25; Acts 13:48.

• Invoke God’s judgment on every opposition to church growth.

God’s judgment on the enemy is what we call vengeance. We must demand for this to silence all opposition against the salvation of men, thereby preventing the church from experiencing growth.

• We must stop the mouth of all that are against the gospel of Christ.

Paul stopped the mouth of Elymas the sorcerer with blindness, resulting in the salvation of the deputy Acts 13:6-12. We must stop every mouth against the gospel that stops men from accepting salvation and preventing church growth.

Jesus is Lord!

Prayer.                                                

Father, in the name of Jesus, I receive fresh empowerment of the Holy Spirit for victory in the warfare against the gates of hell, resulting in massive salvation of souls this 4^th week of harvest Acts. 1:8.

Action.

Command that every mouth speaking against the gospel, and making men to resist salvation be silenced in your neighborhood from now.
