Memory verse:
“And Jesus answered them, saying, The hour is come, that the Son of man should be glorified.”
“Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but
if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.”
“He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal.”
“If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve
me, him willmy Father honour.”
– Jn. 12:23-26.
Our God is a great God and He made us in His image, therefore every man carries the seed of greatness in him Gen. 1:26-27. Jesus Christ who now resides in every believer, is a ‘highly exalted above all’ personality, therefore the believer has the potential to rise to a highly exalted position in life Phil. 2:10-11; Col. 1:27. The Holy Spirit who birthed the believer into God’s kingdom is a great personality Jn. 3:6; 1Jn. 5:7. These show the believer is a product of greatness, therefore he is not expected to be anything less.
We have said that new birth only placed the seed of greatness in the believer, each one must accept the responsibility to nurture the seed in order to rise into a giant in life. Every seed that will deliver what it carries must be planted in the right soil Mk. 4:30-32. This is the concept of dedication; the seed must become dedicated to the soil. The believer that will emerge in greatness must become dedicated, to God and the kingdom business Jn. 12:23-26. Dedication means to become deadly committed. This means that the greatness of the believer is not automatic, but guaranteed when approached as a personal responsibility.
We shall wrap up on this teaching today by taking a look at one other scriptural example of a character, who rose to become a giant by dedication. From scriptures, we know when we follow the steps of those who have obtained, we are bound to obtain as well Heb. 6:12.
Learning from Bible Character who rose to become Giants.
1. The Example of Paul, the Apostle.
Paul whose name was formally Saul was a persecutor, killing the believers in the name of religion Acts 7:58-59. The got saved and became one of the Apostles, and the least of them 1Cor. 15:9. But Paul had an unparalleled dedication to Christ, expressed in very strange ways. Check out his strange dimension of dedication with these expressions; “I am crucified with Christ…” Gal. 2:20; “For me to live is Christ and to die is gain “Phil. 1:21; “Woe to me if I preach not the gospel” 1Cor. 9:16. Paul came as the last of the apostles, but rose to become the most celebrated of them all; he wrote two-thirds of the New Testament Acts 19:14-15; Eph. 3:!-5; 2Pet. 3:15.
With our God is no respect of person; this mean that any believer who will dare to be dedicated is sure to emerge a celebrated giant no matter what he looks like now.
Jesus is Lord!
Prayer.

The scriptures make us to understand that we are in the last days; all the signs the scriptures gave to show that the return of Jesus to the earth is near are all around us Acts 1:9-11; Mat. 24:3-14. Power is a vital feature of the church of Christ in the last days. In essence, […]
Prophecy is the unveiling of God’s plan and purpose for a nation, a people or an individual Gen. 15:13-16; 18:10-12. Every prophecy is ordained for fulfilment, when God says it; it has the guarantee of performance Isa. 55:11. Prophecy has two main sources: But the believer has a responsibility to see prophecy come to fulfilment […]
Memory verse: “God is gone up with a shout, the LORD with the sound of a trumpet.” “Sing praises to God, sing praises: sing praises unto our King, sing praises.” “For God is the King of all the earth: sing ye praises with understanding.” Psa. 47:5-7. Redemption brings the believer into a world of all […]
Just as the physical heart is vital to human life, so is faith to the kingdom life of a believer Pro. 4:23; Hab. 2:4. A heart failure indicates instant death, also faith failure means instant death of the believer’s kingdom life Lk. 22:32; Jn. 10:10. In essence, when the faith of a believer fails, he […]
