Memory verse:

“And Jesus answered them, saying, The hour is come, that the Son of

 man should be glorified.”

“Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the

ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much

 fruit.”

  • Jn. 12:23-24.

What is dedication? It means being sold out to a course, person or thing. To be dedicated is to say like Esther “if I perish I perish’ in one’s walk with God and pursuit of kingdom advancement Est. 4:16. We understand from scriptures that dedication is the covenant force that transforms a believer into a giant. The bible likens the life of the believer to a seed, with the potential of greatness Mk. 4:30-32. The future of every seed is in the planting, which is synonymous to dedication Jn. 12:24-25. In essence, for the believer to realize the potential of greatness in him, he must become dedicated to God and the advancement of His kingdom.

Scriptural Example of Giant made on the Platform of Dedication.

  1. The Example of Paul, the Apostle.

Paul the apostle was a lawyer, seasoned Pharisee, who was zealous in the Mosaic Law Acts 23:6. He saw the followers of Christ as heretics, persecuted them and killed some Acts 9:1-2. He met with Jesus in the process, was converted into the faith and became unparallel in his dedication to Christ. Paul said ‘for me to live is Christ and to die is gain’ Php. 1:21. In another place, Paul said, ‘woe to me if I preach not the gospel, for necessity is placed upon me 1Cor. 9:16. Again, we saw Paul say about his walk and service to God and His kingdom ‘I am crucified with Christ, nevertheless I live but the life I live is of Christ” Gal. 2:20. Paul said again about the cost of his commitment to God and serving His kingdom as ‘I die daily’ 1Cor. 15:31. All of these show a dedicated believer to course of the gospel, and we saw Paul ended up as a spiritual giant, who wrote two-third of the New Testament Acts 19:14-15; Eph. 3:1-5; 2Pet. 3:15.

Paul came as the last apostle but became the foremost apostle in the New Testament through uncommon dedication 1Cor. 15:9. Dedication may be very costly on the believer, but the profit it delivers cannot be compared to the cost Deut. 28:1.
