There is this pathetic story of a captured lion cub that grew up among sheep. The cub began to behave as a sheep having lost her identify to the environment. Every time they went for watering, a lion would show up and all the sheep will flee for their lives including the ‘lion sheep’. One day, they were out for watering, the ‘lion sheep’ saw her reflection in the water, and said to herself “I don’t look others and they neither also look like me”, “but I look like the animal (lion) that we run from every time.” The next time they were watering and a lion showed up, all the sheep fled, this ‘lion sheep’ with courage mixed with fear crossed to the other side. Interestingly, the pride welcomed her into her true kingdom and family by wagging their tails.

This is the picture of most people in the faith today. We have lost the understanding of our true identify of the supernatural to the natural environment we found ourselves, this is subjected us to suffering, frustration, and miserable experiences. The first step for a return into our estate is the discovery and understanding of our true identity as the redeemed of the Lord (Psa. 49:12,20; Jn. 1:19; 8:25).

Who Am I?

The following are believers’ identities as contained in scripture:

  1. A Spirit Being in Human Flesh.

At the beginning, God did not create man or human being; He created a spirit that was referred to as “living soul” (Gen. 2:7). At redemption, God brought forth a new creature of a higher order than that created in the beginning referred to as ‘quickening spirit’ (1Cor. 15:45). This implies, I am redeemed a spirit being in human flesh (Jn. 3:5; Acts 14:11).

  1. A Sheep of His Flock and a Lion to Prevail in Life Battles.

Redemption makes a believer dual natured; a sheep and a lion (Mat. 10:16; Rev. 5:5/Jn. 17:18). As a sheep, he is to be submissive to God in obedience and followership, thereby reflecting His character to men (Jn. 15:4-5,27). As a lion, he prevails against the enemy, making him victorious in all battles of life (Pro. 30:30). This means, I am redeemed as a sheep of His flock, also as a lion to prevail in the battles of life.

  1. To Operate in the Realm of Unlimited Possibilities.

Redemption turns a believer into a god after the order of the almighty God (Psa. 82:5-7; Jn. 10:34-35). God operates in the realm of all possibilities; redemption unleashes this capacity in a believer (Mk. 10:27). Therefore, I am redeemed to operate in the realm of unlimited possibilities (Jn. 14:12; Php. 4:13).

Unlocking the Supernatural by the Word.

After understanding who we are, the next step is understanding kingdom keys for unlocking the supernatural and engaging with them to make the supernatural become our experience. God’s word is a vital key for unlocking the supernatural (Heb. 11:3; Jn. 1:1-3).

How to Make God’s Word Unlock the Supernatural.

  1. Locate the Right Word.

The right word impacts force, thus granting access to the supernatural realm (Job 6:25; 2Tim. 2:15). The Holy Spirit helps believers access the right word, also reminds us of it when required (Jn. 14:26; 16:12-13; 1Cor. 2:10-11,12-14).

  1. Believe the Word.

When a believer believes God’s word, God is moved to confirm the word resulting in signs and wonders (Lk. 1:45; Mat. 9:27-29).

  1. Put the Word into Practice.

Every time a believer does what the word says, he triggers the supernatural into manifestation (Lk. 5:3-8; Jn. 2:3-8).

Conclusion.

You have been struggling because you have been operating in the natural realm. God is calling, “Come up hither.” He is asking each one to step into the supernatural realm He ordained for His children, where the natural comes under our command (Rev. 4:1). Over to you!

Salvation Prayer.

To anyone reading this who desires to give their life to Christ, pray this prayer aloud with me from your heart:

“Lord Jesus, I surrender my life to you today. Forgive me my sins; wash me with your blood. You died for me; on the third day you rose again that I may be justified. Right now, my sins are forgiven; I am justified by your blood; I am born-again; I am saved; I am a child of God; I am free from the power of sin to serve the living God. Thank you, Jesus, for receiving me; thank you Jesus for restoring me; thank you Jesus for saving me. Amen!”

Prayer.

  1. Father, endue me with the grace to take responsibility for God’s word, making me enjoy the supernatural as my normal experience from now (Exo. 4:17).
