Marriage is God’s idea, not man (Gen. 2:18). This means that God is the author of marriage institution, not man’s culture, tradition or philosophy.

What are God’s Idea for Marriage?

  1. To Make Life Good for Man.

The author of marriage says it is a good thing, ordained to make life become good and glorious for everyone who steps into it with understanding (Gen. 2:18). The good news is that in Christ, every good thing is our entitlement, which implies if one must experience the good things of life including marriage, one must come to Christ (Psa. 34:10).

  1. Every Child of God has the Right to be Gloriously Settled in Marriage.

Nothing is permitted to hold a child of God who desires marital settlement (Gen. 1:27-28; Isa. 34:16).

  1. To Confer Honor on Man.

Marriage brings honor in all things (Heb. 13:4). The opposite of honor is shame and reproach; it means marriage is ordained to eradicate shame totally from people’s lives.

  1. For Multiplied Strength that Makes for Good Reward.

Marriage multiplies the strength of people, which leads to greater results and better rewards in their lives (Ecc. 4:9-12).

  1. To Invoke Blessing that Results in Fulfilment.

Marriage triggers the release of blessings, which makes the married enjoy supernatural fulfilment on all sides (Gen. 1:28; Pro. 10:22).

Anything contrary to God’s idea is of the devil; these include marital delay, storms in marriage, threat of separation or divorce, among others. Such things demands breakthrough, and God shall make it happen today.

Covenant Demands to Actualize Our Glorious Marital Destiny.

  1. Be Born Again.

When one receives Christ into one’s life, one has gained access to every other desired good thing in one’s life (Rms. 8:32; Jn. 3:3-5).

  1. Remain in Love with God.

Love is the strongest force in life, with the capacity to deliver breakthrough always (1Cor. 13:8,13; Rms. 8:28). This implies that love for God will clear off every siege, resulting in marital breakthrough (Jn. 14:21).

  1. Be Committed to Kingdom Advancement Endeavor.

Kingdom advancement endeavor secures divine favor (Psa. 34:10; 102:13-15). Divine favor guarantees supernatural breakthrough any time, any day, even in marriage (Exo. 3:21; Pro. 18:22).

  1. Beware of Pride.

Pride is over-estimation of self that makes the individual become disrespectful, condescending, uncorrectable, and unwilling to learn (Pro. 21:2-4). Pride disconnects from grace, makes God to resist and individual, resulting in a siege that stops life on all sides (Jms. 4:5; 1Pet. 5:5). The way out is the choice for humility (Pro. 15:33).

  1. Engage the Power of Faith.

Faith is confidence in God and His word that makes a believer obey whatever God says (Lk. 5:3-5). This invokes God’s power that crushes satanic siege, resulting in marital breakthrough (1Jn. 5:4; Eph. 6:16).

  1. Refuse to Follow Another god.

Following another god implies any other thing or person that has control over one’s heart and life other than the living God (Exo. 20:4-5). This only complicates matters in an individual’s life; it creates a siege against the life of the individual including his marriage (Psa. 16:4; 62:5). The solution is to set one’s eyes on the living God alone (Psa.125:1-3).

Conclusion.

You are ordained for marital glory, but this will become a reality only when an individual embraces the covenant demands.

Salvation Prayer.

To anyone reading this who desires to give their life to Christ, pray this prayer out loud with me from your heart:

“Lord Jesus, I surrender my life to you today. Forgive me my sins; wash me with your blood. I believe you died for me; on the third day you rose again that I may be justified. Right now, I believe that my sins are forgiven; I’m justified by your blood; I’m born-again; I’m saved; I’m a child of God; I’m free from the power of sin to serve the living God. Thank you, Jesus, for receiving me; thank you Jesus for restoring me; thank you Jesus for saving me. Amen!”

Prayer.

  1. Father, I believe in my heritage of marital glory and honor, I make the choice to embrace the covenant demands and I receive the grace to maintain this choice for life (Zch. 4:6-7).
  2. Father, every marital siege against my life gives way now; I command my marital breakthrough right now (Job 22:28).
