Thanksgiving is a commandment of God and an instruction of scripture to believers at all times (Mal. 2:1-2; Jer. 13”15-16; 1Ths. 5:18). Every commandment of God and scriptural instruction is for the benefit of believers who obey; this makes thanksgiving a must for everyone who desires a life of profits (2Tim. 3:16-17).

What Are We Thanking God for as a Church?

1. For a Most Refreshing and Fruitful Midst of the Year.

The willing heart and strength in us to engage productively all through the season came from no other place but God, and we must thank Him for this (Php. 2:13; Jn. 3:27).

2. For the Impact of Our Outreaches.

We embarked on outreaches as a church at home-cell district level, teams, and soul-winning partners, which brought multitudes to Christ (Acts 2:37-38; Jn. 4:29-39).

3. For Great Ingathering of Souls into Church.

God helped us to take various territories for Christ that resulted in salvation of many souls and in gathering into our cell locations and church services (Acts 5:4-5).

4. For Divers Testimonies of Transformations.

God kept confirming our words in the lives of the people we ministered the gospel to, with healings, deliverances, and breakthrough testimonies from them; He deserves the glory (Mk. 16:20).

We must be intentional in giving God thanks to make it known to heaven, all people, and hell that we recognize God and the doer of all these things (1Cor. 4:7).

What Are the Wonders Embedded in Thanksgiving?

1. Thanksgiving Facilitates Answers to Prayers.

A life where everything you need is delivered at the instance of one’s prayer is incomparable; it makes one experience a life of peace, rest, and fulfilment (Php. 4:6-7). This is what thanksgiving does; it secures audience with God that results in His response to our desires (Mat. 6:9-13; 1Jn. 5:14-15).

2. Thanksgiving Engenders Supernatural Change of Story.

Giving thanks to God invokes God’s power that enables a believer for drastic change of level in his life (Hab. 3:17-19; Psa. 149:1-4).

3. Thanksgiving Secures Access to Fresh Oil.

Fresh oil renders the enemies helpless, and thanksgiving invokes the release of fresh oil always (Psa. 92:1-2,10-11).

4. Thanksgiving Engenders a Flourishing Life.

We just established that giving thanks invokes the release of fresh oil, and another effect of that oil is that it makes life flourish despite prevailing circumstances (Psa. 92:1-2,12-15).

5. Thanksgiving Secures and Sustains Supernatural Church Growth.

Church growth is purely a product of God’s hand at work, and thanksgiving is a guarantee to securing that hand of God – any time, any day – resulting in sweatless growth of the church (Acts 2:46-47).

6. Thanksgiving Facilitates Fulfilment of Prophecies.

Giving thanks is doing the will of God, which entitles believers to the delivery of everything God has spoken (1Ths. 5:18; Heb. 10:36).

7. Thanksgiving Quickens the Dead Back to Life

When we give thanks in truth and spirit, we trigger the release of the Spirit of life in Christ, which makes dying and dead things bounce back to life (Rms. 12:2; 4:16-21; Jn. 11:40-44).

8. Thanksgiving Secures Access to the Path of Life.

Thanksgiving stirs God’s hand on a believer’s life, which grants access to the path of life among other things, resulting in fullness of joy and pleasure (Psa. 100:4; 16:11).

9. Thanksgiving Secures Divine Presence.

Divine presence makes the difference in life; it is the secret behind supernatural victory in life (Rms. 8:31; Psa. 114:1-8). Thanksgiving guarantees divine presence always (Psa. 22:3; 100:4).

When thanksgiving becomes a believer’s lifestyle, he has crossed over from death to life.
