Memory verse:
“O LORD, I have heard thy speech, and was afraid: O LORD, revive
thy work in the midst of the years, in the midst of the years make known; in wrath remember mercy.”
- Hab. 3:2.
Time matters a lot concerning life and everything on the earth. The understanding of times and season is vital in making the most of opportunities and to maximize one’s life on the earth 1Chr. 12:32; Eccl. 3:1-14. Scriptures make us to understand that the midst of the year has great significance, and an understanding of it will put the believer at an advantage in life. The midst of the year refers to the months of June and July, with five months before and five after.
Scriptures identifies this season as a time of revival Hab. 3:1-20. For one to make the most of the season, it demands that one must have an adequate understanding of what a revival is, and what one ought to do in a season of revival. These becomes the focus of our studies in the teachings this week. I believe God that the midst of the year 2021 shall be your most productive season thus far in life, and it shall set the pace for an irrecoverable greatness in your life.
Understanding what a revival really is.
- A revival is when men’s hearts begin to pant after God Psa. 42:1-2; Jer. 30:21.
When a revival breaks out, there is holy reference that pervades the land and the heart of men. Everything that used to occupy the heart of men is suddenly exchanged for a pursuit after God in a revival. When one sees such things taking place, then a revival is truly happening.
- A revival is when God’s people begin to take pleasure in the things of the kingdom as a way of life Matt. 6:33; Hag. 1:14; Psa. 102:13-15.
A revival makes people to lose interest in every other thing outside of God to now loving the things of God’s kingdom. This makes club houses, bars, cinemas, sports stadium etc. to lose patronage during a revival, while the church becomes unusually crowded and active with men like never before.
What is one to do in a revival? Every revival is triggered and sustained by prayer. Therefore, we must continue to pray for the outpouring of the Spirit of the fear of the Lord and the zeal for God upon the people Isa. 11:2; Psa. 69:9. Remember, every revival is ordained by God to advance the destiny of men, but that is for only those who will make the most of the season. Receive the grace of God for tireless engagement in this midst of the year revival time.
Jesus is Lord!
