Memory verse:

“I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:”                                  – Deu. 30:19.

Opportunities keep coming to every person in life again and again; the way we respond to them determines our experience and outcome in life Rev. 3:20. The challenge with many is that opportunities often present themselves as responsibilities, tasks, and demands. A lot of people miss opportunities because they love pleasure above responsibilities Pro. 12:17. Great people have the common denominator of taking responsibilities.

Responsibilities Prescribed in Scripture that Guarantee Success.

  1. The Responsibility of Bringing Forth Fruits.

Every believer is described in scriptures as a tree of righteousness Isa. 61:3. Also, believers are referred to as branches of the true vine Jn. 15:1. The two descriptions place responsibility of bringing forth good fruit on individual believers Jn. 15:2,; Isa. 5:4,7. Believers who fail to bear fruit are at the risk of being cut down, which means being cut off from the source resulting in a life of devastation and death of all things Isa. 5:5-6; Jn. 15:2. Fruit bearing could be pictured in two ways: the fruit of the Spirit, and reconciliation of unsaved to Christ Gal. 5:22-23; Jn.. 15:16. In today’s context, our emphasis on fruit bearing is winning souls for Christ.
