We live in an embattled world, only those who win the battle take delivery of their rights and desires Deu. 2:24; 1Tim. 6:12. The mind is the battle-field, where every battle of life must first be won for victory to be experienced in reality Pro. 4:23; 23:7; Dan. 3:14-18,19-28.
Scriptural Examples of Winnning Life Battles from Inside.
- The People at the Tower of Babel.
There was a challenge, which they proffer solution in their imagination, and God attested it will become a reality Gen. 11:3-6.
- Israelite at the Promised Land Border.
They failed to see themselves possessing the promised land, and they never stepped into the land Num. 13:26-28,31-33; 14:28-30.
- The Woman with the Issue of Blood.
She got her victory when she said in her heart “If I may touch His garment, I shall be whole.” Mat. 9:22. This was the secret to her supernatural healing Mat. 9:20-21.
How To Cultivate a Mind with Winning Thoughts.
- Be Committed to the Study of Scripture.
The mind is controlled by the type and quality of information one feed on Mk. 4:24; Lk. 8:18. The scripture offers the richest information that makes the mind to win in every battle of life Pro. 4:20-23; Psa. 1:2-3; Jos. 1:8.
- Consciously Guard your Mind.
One vital responsibility for a winning thought-life is to gird up the loins of one’s mind 1Pet. 1:13. To gird means, to encircle (a person or part of the body) with a belt or band. “Gird up the loins of your mind” would mean to police one’s mind and refuse any kind of thought a free access.
- Engage the Prayer Altar.
One of the amazing powers of prayer is that it frees the mind and thought from satanic interference Psa. 19:14. Prayer is communication with God, which by inference means reasoning with God Isa. 1:18. When one truly reason with God, one becomes filled with God’s thoughts and free of satanic ideas.
- Engage the Power of the Blood.
The blood of Jesus has the power to purge the mind of negative thoughts that can lead to defeat Heb. 9:14; Zch. 9:11-12. We engage the blood in this wise, by intentionally declaring the blood to wipe the thought of concern off our mind Col. 2:14. For example, BY THE BLOOD OF JESUS, THE THOUGHT OF DRUGS IS WIPED OFF MY MIND NOW.
- Form a New Thinking Pattern with God’s Word.
Life abhors vacuum, the mind cannot be left on its own, else it will tend towards thoughts that will produce defeat. To possess a mind with winning thoughts, one must be intentional in using God’s word to define what, how one thinks, and what goes on in one’s mind Php. 4:8; Mat. 12:34.
Proof that the Battle is Won on the Inside.
One can know when a battle is already won in the mind. The biblical proof is REST within Heb. 4:3. When there is apprehension, agitation, and fear inside, it is a clear indication that the battle is yet to be won inside the individual. We must continue to labor with God’s word (as presented in previous sub-topic) until we experience rest on the inside Heb. 4:9-12.
Conclusion.
Understand that God is more interested with, and respond to what a person says on the inside 1Sam. 16:7; Psa. 139:23-24; Jer. 17:9-10. What we say inside us determine what our mouth will declare outside Mat. 12:34. What we declare with our mouth determine the opposition that will submit to us Psa. 18:44-46; Mk. 11:23; Lk. 21:15. Therefore, take responsibility over your mind to build a wining thought, in order to enjoy a winning life.
Salvation Prayer.
To anyone reading this who desires to give their life to Christ, pray this prayer out loud with me from your heart:
“Lord Jesus, I surrender my life to you today. Forgive me my sins; wash me with your blood. I believe you died for me; on the third day you rose again that I may be justified. Right now, I believe that my sins are forgiven; I’m justified by your blood; I’m born-again; I’m saved; I’m a child of God; I’m free from the power of sin to serve the living God. Thank you, Jesus, for receiving me; thank you Jesus for restoring me; thank you Jesus for saving me. Amen!”
Prayer.
- Father, in the name of Jesus and by the power of the Holy Spirit, I take responsibility over my mind for a mind with winning thoughts, thereby empowering me forever winning life from now 4:23.

Redemption brought believers out of the miry clay into the life of wonders (Isa. 8:18). God’s Word is the depot of these wonders; how much his eyes are opened to see determines the amount of wonders he will experience (Gen. 13:14-15; Psa. 119:18). A believer is not designed to struggle to experience a life of […]
God’s word is loaded with wonders; how much of it is revealed to a believer determines how much he experiences (Psa. 119:18; Gen. 13:14-15). This means that the life of wonder ordained by redemption will only become a reality to the extent believers catch revelation of the wonders in the word (Isa. 8:18). What are […]
The Bible is not a history book, not a religious text; it is a book of mysteries loaded with wonders (Mk. 4:11; Psa. 119:18). When believers catch the revelation of these wonders in the word, it invokes dramatic transformations as their lives turn to wonders (Gen. 13:14-15; 2Cor. 3:18). The question is, what are these […]
Often, the challenge with some people is not really the devil, powers of darkness, or any enemy, but themselves – their neglect of salient but vital factor of life (SOS 2:15; Jms. 3:3-5). Thanksgiving is one of such factors; when neglected, it tends to lead to self-destruction (Psa. 28:5; Lk. 16:12-21). Why Do We Give […]
