One can be born again and may not be a lover of God Mat. 7:20. There are many reasons why people come to and serve God. A command one is to receive His blessing, another is to receive solution to their life problems. These are not wrong reasons, but the scriptures make us to understand when one’s reason is love for God, he has qualified himself for the best and greatest that is available with God 1Cor. 2:9; 13:13. What is the power of love for God? Among others, it makes all things to work for the good of the believer Rms. 8:28. Therefore, the love of God at work in a believer is the guarantee for the abundant life that redemption promises.
The Proofs of the love of God in the believer’s life.
- Giving is the proof of our love for God.
When a man is in love, he gives freely and liberally. The bible recognizes giving as the sincere evidence of love 2Cor. 8:8; 9:6-8. When giving to God and the advancement of His kingdom is difficult to a believer, the love of God is questionable in his life.
- Love for those in need around us.
How much a believer is touched by the needs of the poor around him is an indicator of God’s love in his life 1Jn. 3:16-18; 4:20-21. We show love to the poor by meeting their needs with our resources.
- Love for the word of God.
When the word of someone is sweet to our ear that we are never tired of hearing from the person, it shows that the love of the person is in our heart. In the same way, when God’s word becomes a delight to our soul, the love of God is in our heart Psa. 119:97-100; 2Tim. 4:13.
When the love of God is established in a believer, he gains access to all of the blessing of God for His children Jn. 15:15. This is what makes the difference between believers in life.
Jesus is Lord!
Prayer.
Father in the name of Jesus; empower me by your Spirit for the love of God, thereby enable me to be passionate towards lost souls Rms. 5:5.
Action.
Make the choice to give like never before from now to God.
Priestly Blessings.
Everything contesting with the love of God in you is taken off your life now!
I decree the fire of God’s love in your heart is ignited afresh now!
