Memory verse:

“So Ahab went up to eat and to drink. And Elijah went up to the top of Carmel; and he cast himself down upon the earth, and put his face between his knees, 43 And said to his servant, Go up now, look toward the sea. And he went up, and looked, and said, There is nothing. And he said, Go again seven times. 44 And it came to pass at the seventh time, that he said, Behold, there ariseth a little cloud out of the sea, like a man’s hand. And he said, Go up, say unto Ahab, Prepare thy chariot, and get thee down, that the rain stop thee not. 45 And it came to pass in the mean while, that the heaen was black with clouds and wind, and there was a great rain. And Ahab rode, and went to Jezreel. 46 And the hand of the LORD was on Elijah; and he girded up his loins, and ran before Ahab to the entrance of Jezreel.”               – 1Kgs. 18:42-46.

There is no reason for a child of God to fail, be tied down, or frustrated in life. This is because there is a plan and purpose of God on his life, which God is committed to fulfil Jer. 29:11; Isa. 14:24,27. We only need to understand our responsibility to experience the reality of this divine plan Pro. 21:16. Core of this is prayer engagement; it is the covenant platform for expressing expectation Mk. 11:24. Expectation is the covenant force that determines what becomes of individuals in life Pro. 23:18. Some believers engage in prayer but don’t see anything happen, because their prayer lacks expectation.

The Power of Prayer Backed Up with Expectation.

  1. It Delivers Desired Answer Expressly.

David engaged the altar of prayer with expectation, and he got an explicit answer to his desire for direction 2Sam. 5:18-25; 30:6-9. His expectation was not cut off but granted with speed Pro. 24:14.

  1. It Makes Efforts on the Prayer Atar to Produce Result.

Intercession without expectation makes for futile labor at the prayer altar. Expectation makes labor in prayer fruitful Mk. 11:23; Heb. 11:1.

Prayer is a key aspect of the Christian life, but we keep seeing the reality of what we prayed for so we don’t labor in vain Gen. 13:14-15; Rms. 4:17-21.

Jesus is Lord!
