Memory verse:
“And he called his ten servants, and delivered them ten pounds, and said unto them, Occupy till I come.” Lk. 19:13.
We understand from scriptures that the best of kingdom life is for those who are committed to laboring towards the continuous enlargement of the kingdom Jn. 4:34-36. But it is not enough to labor, one must labor to the end Mat. 24:13. This is because every engagement with divine task speaks loudest at the end, both in result and rewards Hab. 3:1-3. The end here connotes when God, the rewarder, comes with His reward to deliver to the believer Rev. 22:12.
Scriptural understanding that empowers the believer to keep laboring to the end.
- Understand that when one stops serving, he gets off God’s payroll.
Just like in the natural, when one stop serving his name is taken off the payroll of the establishment. In the same way, when a believer withdraws his service in the kingdom, his name is taken off God’s payroll Jn. 4:33-36; Mat. 20:1-6.
- The rewarder must meet the believer on duty to deliver his rewards.
The truth is that God rewards every labor done for the sake of kingdom advancement Heb. 11:6. But a vital condition for the reward to be delivered is that God must meet the believer at the duty post still laboring when He comes with the reward Mat. 24:45-47. This is where a lot of believers miss it, they get discouraged and stop a laboring before God comes with the rewards Gal. 6:9.
This is why the scriptures instruct that the believer must occupy till Jesus comes Lk. 19:13. The concept of ‘till Jesus comes’ in this context means when God shows up with rewards to deliver practically to the believer. In essence, the believer must remain committed to kingdom stewardship until his due rewards are delivered practically 1Cor. 15:58.
