The scriptures command the believer to give thanks always 2Ths. 2:13; Eph. 5:20; Php. 4:4; Mal. 2:1-2. Remember, we live in a kingdom that operates by commandments, and our obedience to the commandments is what gives us our place in life 1Tim. 3:16-17; Deut. 28:1-2.

What makes Thanksgiving Powerful and Wondrous?

  1. Every genuine thanksgiving reminds God of what is yet to be done Lk. 17:15-19.

This does not connote that our God is forgetful, NO! But we must understand that our God operates by principles, which He never breaks Psa. 89:34. One of such is thanksgiving reminds Him of issues, and every time God remembers, He moves to deliver instantly Gen. 8:1-4; 19:29.

  • Every genuine thanksgiving usually graduates into praise Psa. 100:4.

Whenever the believer appreciates God for what He has done, He begins to have better appreciation for the person of God, and is moved to celebrate this. Celebration of the person of God is what we call praise, which invokes wonders always Exo. 15:11.

The Wonders of Thanksgiving.

Scriptures makes us to understand that thanksgiving invokes God into the believer’s situation. The consequence is that every opposition on the path of the believer give way of themselves, granting him access to his next level in life Psa. 24:7-10; 114:1-8.

  • Thanksgiving invokes return on the believer’s investment of time, energy, and resources in stewardship Psa. 67:5-7.

Scriptures make us to understand that thanksgiving is the fruit of the lips, which is required for every seed the believer sows to germinate and bring forth harvest Heb. 13:15; Pro. 13:2; 12:14. In essence, harvest is not in view no matter the quality and quantity of the seed sown when there is no thanksgiving from the sower.

  • Thanksgiving is the mystery for supernatural change of story Acts 16:25-26.

Thanksgiving guarantees divine presence; and whenever God shows up, things don’t remain the same. Scriptures show us that thanksgiving has the power to change a believer’s situation from:

  • Healing to wholeness Lk. 17:17-19.
    • Dryness to flourishing Psa. 92:1-2,12-15.
    • Defeat to victory Psa. 92:1-2,10-11.
    • Captivity to liberty Acts 16:25-26.
    • Rags to riches Psa. 66:12; 1Ths. 5:18; Heb. 10:36.
    • Bareness to fruitfulness Isa. 54:1-3; Rms. 4:17-21.
    • Etc.

In conclusion, the believer has been called into a life of glory and envy by new birth, but he has the responsibility to make this a reality in his life by the lifestyle of thanksgiving and praise.

To anyone reading this that will love to give his/her life to Christ, pray this prayer out loud with me from your heart: “Lord Jesus, I surrender my life to you today. Forgive me my sins; wash me with your blood. I believe you died for me, on the third day you rose again that I may be justified. Right now, I believe that my sins are forgiven; I’m justified by your blood; I’m born-again; I’m saved; I’m a child of God; I’m free from the power of sin to serve the living God. Thank you Jesus for receiving me; thank you Jesus for restoring me; thank you Jesus for saving me.”

Prayer.

Father in the name of Jesus, I make the choice of thanksgiving and praise as a lifestyle from today; empower me by your Spirit Acts 1:8.
