Divine guidance is a must have asset for every believer that desires fulfilment in life Isa. 48:17,21; Deut. 32:9-14. No matter how much are the investments made or the support received, when the individual is on the wrong path, he cannot arrive at the desired end, or have the right result Pro. 14:12; 16:25. In essence, one’s direction is at the root of the experience an individual will have in life Hag. 1:5-7. And the guarantee for getting one’s direction right is following divine guidance Isa. 48:17; Jer. 10:23-24.
Five Major Ways that God Leads.
- Through the voice of God behind the Word Psa. 119:105; Isa. 34:16.
- Though the voice of the Holy Spirit Jn. 16:13-14; Acts 8:28-29; 10:19-20.
- Through the witness of the Holy Spirit Rms. 8:16; Acts 16:6-7.
- Through heavenly vision Acts 9: 6-9; 28:19; 10:11-16.
- Through God sent prophets 2Chr. 20:14-17,22-24; Amos 3:7; Lk. 4:25-27.
Anyone can be led by God simply by understanding how to access God’s voice that gives direction.
How to Access Divine Guidance.
Divine guidance goes with a price; only those who pays the price will access or receive it Isa. 55:1.
- Create a serene and quiet environment 1Kgs. 19:11-12; Pro. 18:1.
The voice of God that guides has the characteristics of being small and still, quietness is vital for the believer to hear it. The quietness is both internal and external; some are quiet outwardly but inwardly noisy and rowdy by their worry, anxiety doubt and the likes. Quietness is an attitude not a gift, it has to be cultivated; it starts with the choice 1Ths. 4:11.
- The ministry of teaching priests 2Chr. 15:3; Isa. 30:21.
A teaching priest is one ordained and anointed by God to cause the eyes of the believer to be opened to the light in God’s word Jn. 1:4-5. It is light that illuminates and empowers the believer to rise and walk through life without stumbling or falling Isa. 60:1-2; Jn. 11:9-10. The reason many in church are stranded and struggling is because they walk in darkness, they cannot really see the right path to follow. And rather than seek a teaching priest, they seek after ‘seers’.
- Joy and rejoicing Isa. 30:29-30; Psa. 16:11.
The path of life can only be accessed by the believer when he gets into the presence of God. And God’s presence can only be accessed with joy, rejoicing and praise Psa. 100:3. To access divine guidance therefore, the believer must learn to refuse sorrow and maintain joy in his life.
Biblical Proofs of being Led by the Holy Spirit.
There are things that show the guidance that is from God. Some of them are:
- Supernatural insight Isa. 48:17; Psa. 32:8.
When it is God’s leading, there will be clarity of what to do, and the result to expect. Divine guidance always dispels confusion and ignorance, which is behind the stagnation and struggle. It is why divine guidance guarantees progress and speed for the believer.
- Liberty of the spirit 2Cor. 3:17; Acts 20:22-23.
The Holy Spirit is a ‘free’ Spirit; when He leads the believer will experience freedom within him. When it is divine guidance, the believer will be free of every inhibition within. This inhibition within is what we popularly refer to as being ‘bound in the spirit’.
In conclusion, you cannot be guided by God and be stranded in life. You cannot be guided by the Holy Spirit of God and be struggling at the same time. When one is guided, one enjoys a flight to success. This is your season, every struggle and stagnation is ordained to end in your life, but you need to make the right choice now.
To anyone reading this that will love to give his/her life to Christ, pray this prayer out loud with me from your heart: “Lord Jesus, I surrender my life to you today. Forgive me my sins; wash me with your blood. I believe you died for me, on the third day you rose again that I may be justified. Right now, I believe that my sins are forgiven; I’m justified by your blood; I’m born-again; I’m saved; I’m a child of God; I’m free from the power of sin to serve the living God. Thank you Jesus for receiving me; thank you Jesus for restoring me; thank you Jesus for saving me.”
Prayer.
Father in the name of Jesus, I submit to your guidance from now, release your grace to empower me to receive divine guidance with clarity from today 1Cor. 15:10.
