By redemption, the believer is ordained to reign as king and priest on the earth Rev. 1:5-6; 5:9-10. This means being the top of whatever field of life a believer is found in life. Zechariah the prophet in the Old Testament saw a shadow of these and presented it as a golden destiny Zch. 4:1-5. In that vision, it was made clear to Zechariah that the golden destiny cannot be accomplished in the energy of the flesh, neither by the pursuit with natural strength and ability, it can only become a reality by the Spirit of God Zch. 4:6. This is because there are great mountains against the golden destiny, which the natural effort of the believer cannot subdue Zch. 4:7. Therefore, the believer that will accomplish his glorious destiny must understand the source of the power required, and how to access the power in reality.

Access to the Power by the Believer.

From scripture, the Holy Spirit is the believer’s source of power Acts 1:8; Mic. 3:8. The Holy Spirit is the source of empowerment for the believer. In essence, every believer that desires to be empowered must seek, connect, and understand how to invoke the manifestation of the Holy Spirit in his life. We gain this access through an experience called the baptism of the Holy Spirit Lk. 3:21; 4:1-2,14; 24:49.

Understanding How the Holy Spirit Empowers the Believer.

The Holy Spirit empowers the believer through His various channels of operation. What are these channels of operation of the Holy Spirit?

  1. The Spirit of love 2Tim. 1:7.

The Holy Spirit as the Spirit of love empowers the believer to become unreservedly, emotionally, inseparably and unconditionally tied to God. It makes us go all out for Jesus, with nothing too hard to do, too difficult to obey for God Jn. 21:15-17. The effect of this empowerment by the Spirit of love is outstanding life 1Cor. 2:9; Rms. 8:28.

  • The Spirit of wisdom Deut. 34:9; Matt. 13:54.

The Holy Spirit by the Spirit of wisdom empowers the believer to always know the right things to do per time. This enables the believer to have solution to every challenge no matter how naughty and difficult it appears to be. This makes the believer have unsaved people seek His God, and respond to Christ in his life, so as to proffer solution to their life Pro. 11:30. The effect of this empowerment is that the believer emerges as a shining star Pro. 3:35; Dan. 12:3.

  • The Spirit of burning or passion Isa. 4:4; Lev. 6:12-13.

The Holy Spirit by eh Spirit of burning empowers the believer to be on fire for God. This enables the believer to take a stand for Christ no matter the pressure and situation Acts 4:7-21; 17:6. The effect of this empowerment is that the believer is full of zeal for the Lord and the advancement of His kingdom, which will result in his unstoppable progress and advancement for the believer Jn. 2:13-17.

  • The giving Spirit Deut. 8:18; 2Cor. 8:3-8.

The Holy Spirit by the giving Spirit makes giving to become a delight and the lifestyle of the believer. Nothing will be too big for that believer to lay down, either for the advancement of the kingdom or the benefit of humanity Zch. 1:17; Matt. 24:14. The effect of this empowerment is supernatural prosperity in the life of the believer 2Cor. 9:6-8.

Requirements for Empowerment of the Holy Spirit.

  1. Desperation 1Cor. 2:31; Jn. 7:37-39.

It is the desperation of the believer for empowerment that moves God to pour His Spirit on his life, according to what he desires. Without a strong desire in the believer, there will be no empowerment on his life.

  1. Demand in prayer Lk. 11:9-13; Matt. 7:7-8.

Before God will release His Spirit for empowerment, the believer must ask in prayer. And he must be specific for the empowerment he desires.

In conclusion, when a believer is empowered, his life does not need introduction or announcement again Lk. 4:14,32-37. When a believer is truly empowered, everything takes a new turn for enviable glory in his life. I can see you moment of empowerment is has come!

To anyone reading this that will love to give his/her life to Christ, pray this prayer out loud with me from your heart: “Lord Jesus, I surrender my life to you today. Forgive me my sins; wash me with your blood. I believe you died for me, on the third day you rose again that I may be justified. Right now, I believe that my sins are forgiven; I’m justified by your blood; I’m born-again; I’m saved; I’m a child of God; I’m free from the power of sin to serve the living God. Thank you Jesus for receiving me; thank you Jesus for restoring me; thank you Jesus for saving me.”

Prayer.

Father in the name of Jesus,, empower me with the Spirit of love, the Spirit of wisdom, the Spirit of burning, and the giving Spirit, thereby cause me to emerge as a wonder from this place Lk. 11:13.
