By redemption, the believer has the heritage of long life Psa. 91:16; 92:12-14. This is because Christ by His death and resurrection has conquered death for us Heb. 2:14-15; Rev. 1:18.

Things to Understand for the Believer to Enjoy Long Life.

1. Old age is good Gen. 15:15; Pro. 20:29.

The scriptures identified the time of grey hair as the season of glory in man’s life. Our covenant fathers lived to old age to show that the old age is good and is God’s will for His children: Abraham lived to 175 Gen. 25:8; Gal. 3:13-14; Isaac departed at 180 Gen. 35:28-29; Gal. 4:28; Jacob departed at 147 Gen. 47:28; Rms. 2:28-29.

1. It is as far as the believers eyes can see that will be given to him Gen. 13:14-15; Jer. 1:11.

David saw 70, and he departed at 70 1Chr. 29:28; Psa. 90:10. Paul saw old age and departed to glory known as ‘Paul the aged’ Phm. 1:9; Phi. 1:22-25.

1. Long life is a covenant Gen. 2:16-17; Psa. 89:34.

In essence, there are requirements that when the believer embrace commits God to ensure he fulfils his appointed number of days on the earth.

What are these requirements?

What to DO to Experience our Old Age Heritage in Redemption.

1. Receive and believe the promise of a good old age Jn. 1:12; Mk. 9:23; Hab. 2:1-4.

The believers can only experience what they receive and believe. When the believer receives and believes a thing, the power to make it manifest in reality is released.

• Be committed to serving God as a lifestyle Exo. 23:25-26.

Serving God means commitment to endeavours toward kingdom advancement. These involve principally; soul winning, praying kingdom advancement focused prayers, follow-up of converts till establishment. God is committed to keep kingdom labourers alive because His kingdom is in shortage of them Lk. 10:2.

• Be committed to speaking right words Pro. 18:21; Psa. 34:11-12; Matt. 14:£4-36.

The believer’s mouth is vital in determining his experience in life, either of death or life. Every believer that desires to live long must keep speaking life and words of victory over death. When one does this, nothing will be strong enough to kill the individual.

• Be free from the fear of death Heb. 2:14-15; Job 3:24-25.

Fear makes the believer a victim of whatever he fears. The believer need not to fear death again because Christ has destroyed the power of death. The answer to fear is faith; in essence, every believer that desires long life must build his faith in the word for it Rms. 10:17.

• Engage the weapon of the blood against all assaults of death Exo. 12:13; 1Cor. 5:7.

The blood of Jesus is the last card of God that will always make death to bow. Don’t be careful in engaging the blood, it is the believer’s license to life any time, any day.

• Be committed to giving as a lifestyle Gen. 14:19-21; 25:8; Psa. 41:1-3.

Our giving is a ransom from the power of death Psa. 41:1-3. Giving prolongs the days of the believer, making him to live to good old age.

• Be committed to a life of joy, rejoicing, thanksgiving and praise Pro. 17:22; Psa. 92:1-3,10,15.

Joy and rejoicing is a spiritual medication to the human body, which destroys the forces of sickness and disease that work death in the body. Joy and rejoicing renews the body, thereby making a man to remain young and youthful. Everyone that desires long life, must learn to be joyful and praise-ful in life.

In conclusion, death has lost its power in life! In essence, through Christ we have the power to determine how long we live on the earth, and when we will depart from here. You will not die before your time!

To anyone reading this that will love to give his/her life to Christ, pray this prayer out loud with me from your heart: “Lord Jesus, I surrender my life to you today. Forgive me my sins; wash me with your blood. I believe you died for me, on the third day you rose again that I may be justified. Right now, I believe that my sins are forgiven; I’m justified by your blood; I’m born-again; I’m saved; I’m a child of God; I’m free from the power of sin to serve the living God. Thank you Jesus for receiving me; thank you Jesus for restoring me; thank you Jesus for saving me.”

Father, in the name of Jesus, I decree the power of death is destroyed over my life, family and all that pertains to me from this moment 1Cor. 15:57.
