This world we live in is made through wisdom; it is same wisdom that will give anyone his place in it (Psa. 104:24; Pro. 3:19; 4:7-9). If wisdom made the world and everything in it, then wisdom will make your life, no matter what it looks like now (Ecc. 8:1).
Four Kinds of Wisdom.
In Scripture, four kinds of wisdom are recognized (Jms. 3:15-17).
- Earthly or common sense.
- Sensual or intellectual wisdom.
- Devilish or diabolical wisdom.
- Wisdom from above or supernatural wisdom.
Scripture states clearly that the wisdom from above is superior to all (Jn. 3:31). Wisdom from above is uncommon wisdom, refuse the limitation of intellectual wisdom, and the captivity of diabolical wisdom (Job 28:7,12,20; Isa. 55:8-9; Dan. 5:11-12).
How to Access the Wisdom from Above.
There is a price to wisdom from above; those who pay get at wisdom (Isa. 55:1).
- Be Born Again.
Genuine salvation is non-optional to gain access to God’s wisdom (Mat. 11:19; 1Cor. 2:16). Rejecting salvation is indirectly rejecting access to God’s wisdom and embracing folly (Psa. 14:1; 53:1).
- Be Filled with the Holy Spirit.
The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of wisdom; being filled with the Holy Spirit therefore, is being filled with the wisdom from above (Isa. 11:2). The Holy Spirit teaches and reveals depths of God to believers, making them walk in wisdom (Jn. 14:26; 1Cor. 2:10). For example – John D. Rockefeller was offered the insurance of Titanic ship. It was a juicy offer, but he turned it down because the Holy Spirit instructed him otherwise. This decision saved him from business collapse when the ship sank.
- Stay in Love with God.
Love for God gives unlimited access to everything of God, including the wisdom of God (Jn. 15:15; 1Cor. 2:9-10).
- Engage in Continuous Search of Scriptures.
The Scripture is God’s wisdom in printed form; searching it for encounters with light makes wise (Lk. 11:49; Psa. 19:7-9; 119:97-100). For example – God’s servant, Bishop David Oyedepo found Mat. 6:33, which has become the secret behind his supernatural rise to great heights today – a wisdom that many of us have tapped into and is working for us.
- Engage in Reading Anointed Books.
Books are documentation of the wisdom of authors, which those who read them can tap into (Dan. 9:2; 2Tim. 4:13,15). One characteristic of wise people is that they are great readers. For example – God’s servant, Bishop David Oyedepo, read 39 biographies of previous great men of God before stepping into full-time ministry. Today, we can testify to the impact of this in his ministry and life.
- Engage the Force of Prayer and Fasting.
We do this for enquiry to receive answers to questions on issues of interest; not for acquisitions of things, but to access wisdom (Isa. 58:6-8; Jer. 33:3; Jms. 1:5). For example – I asked God what to do to stop the “husband-and-wife issues” in my marriage, and I got an answer that gave me the wisdom to enjoy great peace in my home since then.
- Engage the Power of Meditation.
Meditation is the art of engaging the mind to think on God’s word in search of solutions to issues of concern; this connects to God’s wisdom (Pro. 18:1; 1Tim. 4:13,15). For example – there was the challenge of getting a crane out of Faith Tabernacle building after fixing the trusses for the roof. The challenge was the height of the door constructed after bringing the crane in was too low for the crane. Suggestions from all experts on site were capital intensive, time consuming, great damage to the structure. Then, God’s servant, Bishop Oyedepo was informed. He got to the site, thought over the issue a while, and received the inspiration. “What is the height of the crane? What about the height of the door? What is the height of the crane’s tyre? Deflate the tyre, use another crane to drag it out, inflate the tyre again, and you are done.”
Conclusion.
We serve the God of all wisdom! He gives wisdom to anyone who pays the price for it! When this wisdom comes upon a dummy, it transforms him into a celebrity in no time.
Salvation Prayer.
To anyone reading this who desires to give their life to Christ, pray this prayer out loud with me from your heart:
“Lord Jesus, I surrender my life to you today. Forgive me my sins; wash me with your blood. I believe you died for me; on the third day you rose again that I may be justified. Right now, I believe that my sins are forgiven; I’m justified by your blood; I’m born-again; I’m saved; I’m a child of God; I’m free from the power of sin to serve the living God. Thank you, Jesus, for receiving me; thank you Jesus for restoring me; thank you Jesus for saving me. Amen!”
Prayer.
- Father, endow me with grace by Your Spirit to pay the price for access to the wisdom from above (Zch. 4:6-7).

Dominion over all things in life is God’s original plan for man (Gen. 1:26-28). This was lost at the fall of man in the Garden of Eden, which Christ restored by His death and resurrection (Jn. 10:10). Demands for Restoration of Our Total Health. There are covenant prescriptions for the restoration of total health of […]
Believers of the end-time are ordained to walk in dominion in all spheres of life, particularly over sickness, disease, and afflictions (Dan. 7:27; Isa. 33:24). Dominion is a function of power; the power level will determine the level of dominion a believer will walk in (Isa. 25:6-8; Psa. 30:5). There are kingdom instruments or weapons […]
We have established from scripture that believers are ordained to walk in dominion over sicknesses and diseases (Isa. 33:24). There are kingdom provisions for making this a reality, one of them is the mystery of the communion (Jn. 6:53-57). How Does Holy Communion Empower for Dominion Over Sickness and Disease? The communion is a supernatural […]
Dominion is God’s will for man from the beginning (Gen. 1:28). Man lost it at the fall, but redemption empowered him again for dominion in life (Jn. 1:12; Eph. 1:19-21). Particularly, the end-time church by God’s agenda is ordained to walk in absolute dominion before Christ returns (Dan. 7:27). One vital area of this dominion […]
