God’s blessing is the secret to success and struggle-free experience in life (Pro. 10:22).

Scriptural Examples of the Power of God’s Blessing.

1. God’s blessing empowered Adam for dominion over the earth.

He was made out of dust, the most useless thing, but exercised dominion after he received the blessing (Gen. 1:26-28).

2. God’s Blessing Turned Abraham from Failure into Generational Greatness.

Abraham at 75 was an epitome of failure, but emerged the epitome of generational greatness through God’s blessing (Gen. 12:1-3; 24:1; Gal. 3:13-14).

3. God’s Blessings Turned Jacob the Younger to the Leader.

As the younger brother, Jacob was to serve his elder brother, but he received the blessing and the table turned that Esau had to serve him thereafter (Gen. 27:35-40).

Keys to Accessing Showers of Blessing.

We serve a covenant keeping God; everything of God is delivered through His covenant, including His blessings (Psa. 89:34). This means that access to God’s blessing is by aligning with the covenant terms, which we refer to as keys in this context (Ezk. 34:25-26). What are these keys?

1. Genuine New Birth.

When an individual renounces the life of sin to receive the nature and life of Christ, he has opened his life up for the showers of blessings (Acts 3:26; Gal. 3:13-14). This is the first and non-negotiable step into the realms of God’s blessings.

2. Obedience of Faith.

Every time a believer obeys God’s and scriptural instructions; this triggers the release of the blessing of God on his life (Deu. 28:1-2). The life of Abraham is typical example of this (Gen. 22:15-18; 24:1).

3. Kingdom Acceptable Stewardship.

Commitment to serving God and kingdom interests brings a believer under open heaven of showers of blessings (Exo. 23:25). Job is a good example of this; through his commitment to serving God, he walked into blessings and became the greatest personality of his days (Job 1:1-3,8-9; 29:4-17; 42:12-13).

4. Kingdom Advancement Endeavors.

This connotes the use of one’s resources to promote God’s kingdom and affairs (Hag. 1:5-13). This secures open heaven for a believer and outpouring of showers of blessings resulting in a glorious life (Mal. 3:10). David exemplified this; he emerged in greatness through engaging his resources for God’s kingdom (1Chr. 29:3).

5. Priestly Blessing.

The proclamation by a God ordained priest is one way to God’s blessing (Num. 6:23-27). Abraham is an example; Melchizedek, the priest of God blessed him and this empowered his rise to generational greatness (Gen. 14:18-20; Heb. 7:1-8).

6. Parental Blessing.

Pronouncements by biological parents are veritable way to access God’s blessing, but it is each individual’s responsibility to invoke such parental pronouncements (Gen. 27:1-4,27-29). Joseph is a good example; the blessing of Jacob was what caused him prevail against all odds in life (Gen. 49:22-26).

7. Thanksgiving and Praise.

Every time a believer engages in true thanksgiving or praise, God’s blessing is invoked (Psa. 67:5-7). This is a strong secret of David’s life; he was a die-hard thanksgiver and he emerged on the throne (Psa. 19:164).

Conclusion.

God’s blessing defines life, but life is an adventure of personal responsibility. This means that one must accept the responsibility of access to God’s blessing by engaging the covenant keys.

Salvation Prayer.

To anyone reading this who desires to give their life to Christ, pray this prayer out loud with me from your heart:

“Lord Jesus, I surrender my life to you today. Forgive me my sins; wash me with your blood. I believe you died for me; on the third day you rose again that I may be justified. Right now, I believe that my sins are forgiven; I’m justified by your blood; I’m born-again; I’m saved; I’m a child of God; I’m free from the power of sin to serve the living God. Thank you, Jesus, for receiving me; thank you Jesus for restoring me; thank you Jesus for saving me. Amen!”

Prayer.

1. Father, by your Spirit, I receive power to take responsibility for accessing showers of blessing over my life from today (Mic. 3:8).
2. Father, as operate the keys for access to blessing, my heaven shall be open continually, the showers shall keep pouring on my life from today (Mal. 3:10).
