Prophecies are ordained to be fulfilled Isa. 55:10-11; Num. 23:19. We must understand that no prophecy will be fulfilled just because it was so ordained, but by believers who will take up the responsibility for its fulfilment 1Tim. 1:18; Num. 13:30; 14:6,20-24. The responsibility is to receive, believe, and put the prophecy to work Jn. 1:12; Lk. 1:45; Jms. 2:18. To receive and believe prophecy require a good understanding of prophecy.
What are Prophecies?
- Prophecies are Divine Plans Ordained to be Fulfilled in the Life of Whoever Believes.
We serve the God who has His plan and purpose for everything and everyone Ecc. 3:1. He reveals His plan before executing them, which is what we refer to as prophecy. When any of God’s plan is revealed, it is guaranteed for fulfilment Isa. 14:24,27; 55:11.
- Prophecies are Declarations of What God Has Given According to His Power.
God speaks of what He has given or done according to His power, not our limitations, waiting for our appropriate response for it to be delivered Jos. 18:3; 2Kgs. 7:1-2,19-20; Mk. 10:27; Lk. 1:30-31,34-35. The appropriate response is to receive, believe, and take covenant steps for its fulfilment.
How Do I Know I Have Received and Believed Prophecy.
When a prophetic word is receives and believed, it stirs peace within Psa. 85:8; Php. 4:7. Peace is vital to secure God’s hand for performance, which is the force behind delivery of every prophecy 1Kgs. 8:15; 2Chr. 20:17. A sure way to invoke God’s hand to work is through praise Psa. 22:3; Exo. 15:11.
How Praise Facilitates Fulfilment of Prophecies.
- Praise Infuses Believers with Strength.
Strength empowers for exploit; the limit of an individual’s strength is the limit of what he can see happen in his life Dan. 11:32. This implies, it takes supernatural strength to experience performance of prophecy in one’s life. In praise, we build supernatural strength, thereby making us fit for prophecy delivery Mat. 21:16; Psa. 8:2.
- Praise Invokes the Release of Favor for Prophecy Fulfilment.
Favor is a kingdom force for fulfilling prophecy Gen. 15:13/Exo. 3:21; Isa. 7:14/Lk. 1:28,30-31. High praise is the trigger for the release of higher dimension of favor 2Sam. 6:14; Psa. 30:5-7.
- Praise Invokes Divine Presence that Secures Supernatural Change of Story.
Praise guarantees the manifestation of God’s presence Psa. 22:3. When God manifest His presence, the story of the individual changes to what God has ordained Zph. 3:17,19-20.
Conclusion.
Remember, God’s word is the “most sure word of prophecy”, or the most authentic prophecy 2Pet. 1:19-21. Everything about our lives has a prophetic word concerning it in scripture Isa. 29:11-12. The good news is that these prophetic words speak only good things Jer. 29:11. This implies, laboring towards fulfilment of prophecy is key to experiencing a good life
Salvation Prayer.
To anyone reading this who desires to give their life to Christ, pray this prayer out loud with me from your heart:
“Lord Jesus, I surrender my life to you today. Forgive me my sins; wash me with your blood. I believe you died for me; on the third day you rose again that I may be justified. Right now, I believe that my sins are forgiven; I’m justified by your blood; I’m born-again; I’m saved; I’m a child of God; I’m free from the power of sin to serve the living God. Thank you, Jesus, for receiving me; thank you Jesus for restoring me; thank you Jesus for saving me. Amen!”
Prayer.
- Father, empower me by your Spirit for the lifestyle of praise that will make every prophetic word to be fulfilled in my life in the few weeks left this year 61:1,3.
