We are in a revival, it has been on for years now, but the midst of the year season has brought us to a new and higher wave of this revival Psa. 42:7; Hab. 3:1-2. Remember, every revival is ordained by God to advance the destiny of the people Psa. 85:6. But only those who care to engage benefits from a revival. Therefore, each of us must take heed to see that we don’t miss out, but make the most of this revival season Gen. 28:16; Pro. 10:5; Jer. 8:20.

What is a Revival?

Our understanding will determine how outstanding we will be in anything.

  1. A revival is a move of the Spirit that stirs the spirit of men to commit to kingdom advancement endeavors.

In essence, a revival refers to the experience of having the Holy Spirit in operation among a people or an individual in a dimension never witnessed before 2Chr. 15:1-2,3-9. Every time the Holy Spirit is in operation, man’s spirit is stirred to pursue after God and the affairs of His kingdom 2Chr. 15:12-15; Hag. 1:5-14; 2:3-9.

  • A revival is a move of the Spirit ordained to terminate all frustration and afflictions of God’s people, thereby turning them to the envy of their world.

The Spirit of God in operation is what we refer to as a revival, which will always lead to the termination of whatever is not of God in the believer’s life Hag. 3:2.6-7. The result of this is the rise of the believer to greatness in life Hab. 3:17-19; Zph. 3:17-20.

What are the things that Identifies a Revival?

These are the indicators of a revival, which will enable the believer to assess and ascertain the revival is happening in his life.

  1. A revival is said to occur when the word of God continues to come alive in one’s heart in increasing dimensions.

In every true revival, the same word of God the believer has heard and read with no or little understanding, begin to communicate depth of spiritual understanding to him Jer. 31:33-34; Acts 19:20.

  1. A revival is said to occur when going to church becomes a way of life.

In every true revival, being in church becomes the desire of men Psa. 84:1-7; 122:1-2. This makes everywhere to become a church; homes, offices, bars, brothel, kiosks etc, where people gather for fellowship at every moment of opportunity Acts 2:46.

When none of these indicators of a revival is evident in a believer, the revival is yet to happen in his life as a person.

What is in a Revival for Us?

In essence, what are the blessings of experiencing a revival as a person?

  1. Every revival turns believers into financial fortune.

In every revival, financial fortune is unleashed on engaging believers Zch. 1:17; Hag. 2:3-9; Lk. 16:11.

  • Every revival establishes the believer in divine health.

Every revival makes the engaging believer to step into the realm of divine health, where sickness, disease and afflictions are absent 2Cor. 5:19-20; Pro. 13:17; Exo. 23:25-26.

  • Every revival empowers believers to command the supernatural.

We have defined a revival as the move of the Holy Spirit, who is the chief commander of the supernatural Joel 2:28-30. This makes every engaging believer to take command of the supernatural in a revival Isa. 8:18; Lk. 9:1-6.

In conclusion, how does a believer secure the revival in his life? First, by a thirst of the heart for revival Psa. 42L1-2; Isa. 44:3-4. Second, by engaging the prayer altar for kingdom advancement Hag. 3:1-2; Lk. 3:21; Acts 2:1-4. We are privilege to be part of this season, the best time to be alive as a believer. What becomes of each person at the end is determined individually.

To anyone reading this that will love to give his/her life to Christ, pray this prayer out loud with me from your heart: “Lord Jesus, I surrender my life to you today. Forgive me my sins; wash me with your blood. I believe you died for me, on the third day you rose again that I may be justified. Right now, I believe that my sins are forgiven; I’m justified by your blood; I’m born-again; I’m saved; I’m a child of God; I’m free from the power of sin to serve the living God. Thank you Jesus for receiving me, thank you Jesus for restoring me, thank you Jesus for saving me. Amen!”

Prayer.

  1. Father in the name of Jesus, whatever is obstructing and preventing the move of the Spirit of God in my life is taken off now Col. 2:14.
  2. Father in the name of Jesus, ignite the fire of this revival in my life right now Psa. 85:6.
  3. Father in the name of Jesus, set my spiritual life on the fire on the Holy Spirit in a new way now (prayer, word, soul winning, giving etc) Acts 2:4; Lev. 6:12-13.
