Memory verse:
“Thus saith the Lord GOD; I will yet for this be enquired of by the house of Israel, to do it for them; I will increase them with men like a flock.” – Ezk. 36:37.
God ordained His church for continuous, supernatural growth, but it is not automatic Mat. 16:18. The growth of the church will be in response to believers accepting covenant responsibility 1Cor. 3:6. Prayer is identified in scripture as the principal requirement to generate supernatural church growth Isa. 66:7-8; Ezk. 36:37. Prayer is communication with God, with faith that God will respond to make happen what we pray 1Jn. 5:14-15. Without prayer, we rob ourselves of making God to do anything, thereby denying us of the growth ordained Jn. 16:23-24. Therefore, only a praying church will be a growing church, and a growing church must continue to pray to keep growing.
The Impact of Prayer Towards Church Growth.
- Without God, Every Labor of Man is in Vain.
Scripture states clearly that except the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain that build it Psa. 127:1-2. Prayer is a guaranteed way to invoke God to work any time, any day Jer. 33:3; Jn. 14:13-14. Therefore, it takes prayer for God to increase and multiply membership of the church 1Cor. 3:6; acts 6:4,7.
- Guaranteed Rewards.
Engaging the prayer altar towards supernatural growth of the church has the guarantee of rewards for believers Mat. 6:6-7. We should expect the rewards for our engagement 1Cor. 9:10.
