Memory verse:
“Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain. 2 It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he giveth his beloved sleep.” – Psa. 127:1-2.
Church growth is God’s will and the only interest He has on the earth Hab. 2:14; Lk. 12:32. From scripture, we understand that behind church growth is God the Father, Jesus Christ the Son, who is the master builder, and the Holy Spirit, who drafts multitude into the church 1Cor. 3:6; Mat. 16:18; Acts 2:4-6. Thanksgiving is the kingdom mystery that stirs them to work, resulting in growth of the church Jer. 30:19. This means that for continuous church growth, we owe God thanks.
The Power of Thanksgiving.
- Thanksgiving Enables Establishment of New Converts.
Thanksgiving invokes God to work, and He is behind the establishment of our new converts Jn. 10:29; 6:44.
- Thanksgiving is the Mystery for Multiplication.
What we don’t appreciate depreciates, but what we appreciate continues to multiply Jn. 6:10-13.
What Basis Are We to Continue Thanking God?
- For the Laborers in the Harvest Field.
There cannot be church growth without laborers in the harvest field Lk. 14:21-23. These are sent by the Holy Spirit into the harvest field Mat. 9:37-38; 20:1-9.
- For Signs and Wonders.
Signs and wonders are vital in drawing multitude into the church Jn. 4:48. God at work is behind the manifestation of signs and wonders Zph. 3:17; Mk. 16:20.
Jesus is Lord!
Prayer.
Father, thank you for every soul saved and gathered into the church all through the just concluded Operation Run here in this church Jn. 6:44.
Action.
Thank God for stirring the heart of members for engagement in Operation Run.
Priestly Blessings.
God’s hand on this assembly and members’ lives shall become stronger!
The growth we witnessed during Operation Run shall be continuous!
