Memory verse:
“Then came to him the mother of Zebedee’s children with her sons, worshipping him, and desiring a certain thing of him. 21 And he said unto her, What wilt thou? She saith unto him, Grant that these my two sons may sit, the one on thy right hand, and the other on the left, in thy kingdom. 22 But Jesus answered and said, Ye know not what ye ask. Are ye able to drink of the cup that I shall drink of, and to be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with? They say unto him, We are able.” – Mat. 20:20-22.
We need to know and understand our Father in heaven, to enjoy all that He has available His children (Jn. 8:32). The depth of one’s understanding of the Father determines each one’s walk with Him, which defines what we receive and experience (Gen. 17:1-2). One basic characteristic of our heavenly Father is a covenant keeper; access to His provisions is by operating His covenant (Psa. 89:34). The covenant means for every benefit God has to offer, there are demands to fulfill (Deu. 28:1-2). Scripture states clearly that serving God is the master demand that gives access to all benefits of the kingdom (Psa. 34:10).
Kingdom Provision that Kingdom Service Grants Access.
- Freedom from Oppression.
With Jesus in anyone’s life, freedom from every challenge of life is guaranteed (Jn. 8:36; 1Jn. 4:4). But we do not beg to be free from the oppression of the wicked; we serve our way into liberty (Exo. 4:22-23; Lk. 10:1-2,17-19). A commitment to serve is wisdom to enjoy a life of freedom.
- Breaking Free from Generational Curses.
Being born again qualifies believers to break generational curses (Gal. 3:13-14). But we do not cry to be free from generational curses; we serve our way into freedom from every curse (Exo. 23:25-26; Num. 23:8,20).
God is not looking for who to disgrace; He is looking for who to empower for triumphant living (Psa. 89:20-24; Mk. 16:15,17,20).
