Memory verse:
“Let them shout for joy, and be glad, that favour my righteous cause: yea, let them say continually, Let the LORD be magnified, which hath pleasure in the prosperity of his servant.” Psa. 35:27.
In every country, nation, or kingdom where there is sane governance, the citizens don’t beg for their basic rights in life. Those rights are made available for the citizens to enjoy as long as they fulfil their civil responsibilities. This is what is obtainable in God’s kingdom, with God the righteous judge as the head Heb. 12:22-24. The believer only needs to understand his responsibility as serving God, for him to be entitled to all the provisions of God’s kingdom Job 36:11; Mat. 6:33.
The provisions of God’s kingdom that serving God guarantees include:
- We serve to become fruitful.
Everything God created in life is ordained to be fruitful, man inclusive Gen. 1:11-12,20-23,25,26-28. Though being fruitful is ordained by God, the believer must understand that we don’t wait for it, we make it happen. Also, we must understand that we do not beg to be fruitful, we serve to become fruitful Psa. 127:3.
- We serve to enjoy honor.
Honor is the experience of being given the treatment that is above one’s credential and status. This is a privilege that redemption entitles every believer to enjoy in life Isa. 60:9-20. The believer must understand that we do not beg to be honored, we serve our way to honor Mat. 24:45-47.
Therefore, serving God is not placing undue burden on the believer. God is not looking for who to humiliate, rather His interest is who to honor Pro. 14:28; 1Sam. 2:30.
