First, we must acknowledge the truth that we live in a world enveloped in darkness Psa. 74:20; Isa. 60:1-2; Eph. 6:12. The mission of darkness is to trap, place in bondage, and ultimately destroys Gen. 1:2; Exo. 10:22-23; Psa. 82:5-7; Jn. 11:9-10; 12:35; Eph. 6:12. The big issue is that people are in bondage and don’t know Isa. 42:18-25; Psa. 82:5. The good news is that the price for every man’s rescue has been fully paid on the cross, but we must accept covenant responsibility Ecc. 9:4; Isa. 52:1-2; Heb. 2:3.
What is the Covenant Responsibility for Our Rescue?
- Access to the Light of God.
The only way out of the assault of darkness is light, because the dominion of light over darkness is instant and unquestionable Isa. 60:1-2; Mat. 4:1-11; Jn. 1:5. In essence, when the light of God shines into an individual’s life, his rescue is established on the spot. The question then is, how can I gain access to light?
Covenant Ways to Access Light.
- Be Born Again and Remain So.
Christ delivers a man from darkness and turns him into a child of light Col. 1:12-14; Eph. 5:8. In essence, until a man is genuinely born again, he remains a captive to darkness in life.
- Entrance of God’s Word into the Heart.
In God’s word is light, when the word gains entrance into the heart of a man it releases light into the man’s life Jn. 1:4; Psa. 119:130. God’s word gains entrance into our heart as we give attention to it in study, meditation, and practice Pro. 4:20-22; 2Tim. 4:13,15.
- Through Testimonies.
Testimonies of Jesus in the life of others is a guaranteed access to the light of God, when we give heed Isa. 8:18. Testimonies illuminates, believers are to give attention to them to become lighted.
- The Holy Spirit.
The Holy Spirit helps believers to gain access to the light of God in the word Jn. 14:16-17; 1Jn. 2:20-27. This is a major way He empowers believers to stay free from all assaults of the powers of darkness Lk. 10:17-19.
Conclusion.
The price for every man’s rescue has been fully paid, but individuals have the responsibility to make this become the reality in his life. Everyone that loves to be rescued from the scourge of the powers of darkness therefore must go for light, and walk in the light.
Salvation Prayer.
To anyone reading this who desires to give their life to Christ, pray this prayer out loud with me from your heart:
“Lord Jesus, I surrender my life to you today. Forgive me my sins; wash me with your blood. I believe you died for me; on the third day you rose again that I may be justified. Right now, I believe that my sins are forgiven; I’m justified by your blood; I’m born-again; I’m saved; I’m a child of God; I’m free from the power of sin to serve the living God. Thank you, Jesus, for receiving me; thank you Jesus for restoring me; thank you Jesus for saving me. Amen!”

Memory verse: “My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him. 6 He only is my rock and my salvation: he is my defence; I shall not be moved. 7 In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God.” – Psa. 62:5-7. God’s kingdom […]
The subject of divine leading is a non-negotiable and non-optional for every person who will do well in life, no matter his situation Deu. 32:9-14; Isa. 48:17. There is no substitute to taking right steps and making right decisions in life, not prayer, fasting, service, giving, faith or anointing. Once a wrong step is taken, […]
The outcome of our actions is determined by the expectations we hold Pro. 23:18; 24:13-14. This is why two people can perform the same task yet experience different outcomes. Therefore, we must cultivate the right expectations as we conclude our 21-day prayer and fasting for favorable results. Scriptural Expectations for Our Fasting to Deliver Favorable […]
