Memory verse:
“Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name.”
“Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:”
“Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;”
“Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;”
“Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s.”
- Psa. 103:1-5.
Thanksgiving is the way of life in God’s kingdom, and everyone giant in the kingdom were men that walked in this way of God 1Ths. 5:18; Jer. 5:4-5. Thanksgiving by simple definition is acknowledging God for His person and His acts in one’s life Psa. 92:1-3. Scriptures teach that when an individual still has breath in his nostril, he has the reason to thank God Psa. 150:6. Also, when there is a food to eat and a cloth to put on, no matter the food or cloth type, there is enough reason to thank God 1Tim. 6:8.
Scriptures make it clear that the will of God at all times is thanksgiving 1Ths. 5:18. Therefore, in any situation the believer is found complaining, murmuring or grumbling, he has stepped out of God’s will for his life. And being out the will of God exposes the believer to the wiles of the enemy 2Cor. 10:6. In essence, thanksgiving is the security for the life of the believer on the earth. What is in thanksgiving that makes it powerful? The answer to this question has been the focus of our teaching this week.
What in thanksgiving that makes it powerful.
- It is the believer’s guarantee to blessing.
The purpose of God for Christ’s death and resurrection is to bring the believer into His blessing Acts 3:26; Rev. 5:12. And the blessing of God is all that man need on the earth for a glorious and great life Gen. 1:28; Pro. 10:22. The scriptures make us to understand that God’s purpose is one that cannot be altered, but ordained to be forever Isa. 14:24,26-27. In essence, God’s plan of blessing for the believer is an irreversible and unstoppable one. But thanksgiving is the believer’s guaranteed access to, and preservation of God’s blessing in life Mal. 2:1-3; Psa. 28:5. When thanksgiving becomes the lifestyle of a believer, God’s blessing becomes his normal experience.
In essence, the choice to make thanksgiving one’s lifestyle is the wisdom that will position the believer for glory and greatness in life. I see the grace for this dimension of life released on you right now.
